Because in my mind its a big difference Avi. Having a headphone with too little bass is a bit like having one with too much or being extremely sibilant. Look at it this way - where I think the T5 is perfect for the price 5/5 = 100%, I consider the T3 as only being 80% or 4/5. It's still a very high mark - but I wouldn't be comfortable at any higher.
@Brooko I was under the assumption that the T3 was geared for vocal lovers. Under that front, it's done a fantastic job, one much above its price. Maybe it should be rated as a vocal headphone, since it was advertised as such? But I see what you mean, especially since you feel that the T5 isn't a U-shaped headphone (like I do, hence to me, each one has its own strengths and weaknesses). With the T5, I find myself constantly having to raise the volume, since what's a normal volume on the bass front isn't the same as for the midrange and highs.
Be careful with the T5 though - after a while, you won't feel the raised lower-end anymore, but bass is like salt - the more you have, the more you need, so be careful. Take care!

I do wonder how many people who reviewed the T5 and T3 did so on their individual merits, and who reviewed them as a pair. I did them individually, and then against quite a few IEMs I have. I'm confident in my own mind that while the T5 might have mildly raised bass levels, it is a lot more balanced overall than the T3 - which I still view as being bass light. Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in between?
And I don't think there is any danger of me ever becoming an overly warm/dark signature lover.
Well done mate! I guess I was correct to pick out the T5 between the T1es, T3 and T5. I picked them simply by looking at your FR graphs when you first got them. IMO, the T5 still deserves the 5 stars, you always have to consider the performance and value, and for the poultry price they go for, the T5 is a gem.
Thanks Igor - both T3 and T5 have strengths, and both incredible value for money (performance/price ratio). But yep - T5 is defnitely my preference. I can probably arrange to send the T3 across at some stage if you want to do a comparison.
