Part of the hate from me towards them is they take away from the headphones industry and from other companies. They're trying to turn headphones into a fashion statement and are succeeding. 53% of the headphone market is owned by them and they've become so popular that beats users are bashing non- beats users.
In terms of the review, nice review.

I think it is good and bad at the same time, yes they do get a lot of the marketshare, but it also opens up the possibility in the long-run that these newbie headphone enthusiasts will soon discover the world of headphones and they will start to explore other options like Audio Technicas, Sennheisers, etc. And, they would be educated that there are a lot of better quality headphones than the Beats. With Monster products, I thought the Studios are fairly good for starters, but overpriced.. without Dre's name on them I thought it is fair trade to have a price tag of $80 to $100 for them. But, the other Beats products the Solos, HDs, Pros are definitely not worth it. The 10% of the marketshare is us the Audiophiles, we are few because we are unique after all :)

@GL1TCH3D i find it hilarious, that you said, "Part of the hate from me towards them is they take away from the headphones industry and from other companies."
Um, what exactly was stopping any other can manufacturer from using this thing called marketing? Some can argue that if it weren't for Bose's "no high, no lows, must be Bose" systems, the average home user wouldn't know a thing about "real" speaker manufacturers. Don't blame Monster and Dre, blame your favorite can manufacturers for being too greedy with their products and not reinvesting in their business. Bose didn't start off a multi million company, nor did Monster, or Apple, but they were smart enough to create compelling products, that worked as advertised and marketed them to an audience. If you were paying attention, you'd have noted that now even traditional speaker manufacturers are getting in the game. So thank Monster and Dre, they made your lil' hobby more enjoyable.
