Considering I own the Timeless and have an UM MEST MK2 and RU6 already on their way, this review was seriously satisfying to read. Great job.

Well my Mest is mk1. Hope you enjoy the mk2 much - it is a bit more bassy than the mk1. For Timeless - really great pair; just first listen to Timeless, than to Mest mk2 since they are different league and other way around you may find the Timeless not good, and it is.

What do you personally prefer out of NOS and OS and which offers wider soundstage? Thanks in advance!

NOS has wider sound stage, according to me, since I find it having bigger space between tones and vocals are well present but least forward which creates deeper soundstage, tones are smooth but complete and there is a bit tube like nature. OS is working well but when you have more details somehow the space b/n notes is less and vocals are a bit more intimate. OS is giving a bit less smoother presentation and somehow less resonance.

So, for flac and such hires files NOS is better but OS is better for mp3 files?

I rarely use mp3 since it is poor format for me. But, yes, most mp3s need OS.

Of course, mp3 is inferior to flac and wav. However, I am yet to convert my whole music library to hires files. So, OS can come in handy for me. Thanks for your reply 👍
