While undoubtedly the n7 sounds better as one would expect, I've been quite enjoying the ru7, and recognized many of its sound qualities in your review of the n7. Thanks for your efforts.

Excellent review and pretty much mirrors my thoughts. I've had my N7 a few months and no thoughts if anything else, which is a new feeling for me

Stupidly I’ve yet again listed it on classifieds due to eyeing up an R2R DAC for my desktop, seeing my own review and comments has me about to close the listing again

@senorx12562 - RU7 is a dongle I’ve been meaning to try, I must do at some point. I have RU6 but not used in quite a while.

I have the N7 and almost exclusively pair it with the Aroma A100TB with the PS100 and op amps Burson iV5 on the output and Muses 02 on the input. With that being said the pair up is my favorite even though I have a C9 which I also pair it with. For me the N7 really shines when paired with an external amplifier.

@Answerfish yes I really must try it with an amp, I suspect doing that would make me hold on to it for much longer - too many great reports of how it shines with further amplification.
