hi peter 800 + 800 mW means total 800 mW or 1600 mW
some manufacturers give just one info, others say one + one, what's the difference?

Hi yalper,
It's 800mW, I honestly don't know why the put 800+800 some places :)

it is 800 + 800  which means 800 left channel then 800 right channel.  Not 800 total :) So yes do put 800+ 800 :)

I loved this review. Most of what you wrote is exactly how I felt about this amp.

Unfortunately, I still hear the mids and highs sound a bit bright. It's probably the lack of burn in it has and due to the type of 3.5mm cable I use.

Some 3.5mm cables make the amp sound warmer and more potent in the bass impact,, which made my ckr9s sound pretty bombastic in its bass!

Until the 3.5mm loosened itself and lost the tight connection it had with the cayin c5, then I hear pops and powerful booms because of the terrible connection. :frowning2:

Anyway, I loved your review and I hope you continue writing more of them! Maybe the new cayin n6 will be your next bet!
it better be less than $500. :/

I seriously wonder how long your cayin c5 lasted with the havi b3 (since the in-ear is power hungry). I used mine for 4 hours and still had 2/3rds of my battery remaining using the ath-ckr9. Please continue to glorify this amp, especially since this company deserves it. I had never expected to hear and own the cleanest, dead silent, and spacious amp ever!!

@nick n thanks for clarifying :)

@vlenbo Thanks a lot!  Yeah, the N6 sure looks interesting :)

I've honestly never timed it but I've mainly used it with the Havi's and pretty hard to drive full size headphones and if I should guess I would say about 8 hours. Typically I use it for a few hours and then put in on charge when I don't use it.

Thank Peter offers so true about the sense of hearing and comparison of C5. C5 with a lot of people like the same reason, because the C5 headphones to listen to music provided enough great voice, for this reason strong enough and let us continue our efforts.

Two problems described here first, limited to the cost issue, C5 accessories only provides a standard wire, but I suggest that if the sound quality has a persistent pursuit, replace the silver on the recorded line and high-purity single-crystal copper line, of course, this will be a cost, but from the sound point of view he is a worthy second is about C5's life, in the case of full power, the use of time is 10-12 hours, arises load and output power variation with the connected headset lead changes.

Thanks everyone, and friends concerned about our new products, I can reveal a little bit, N6 will be the first level of our HI-END product circuit applications on a portable player, and regardless of the cost because different circuit design investment, N6 price may be some high (I am sure thing is that even with the same product from China, and similar hardware specifications equal, we will also be the most expensive), but the only way to guarantee that CAYIN at 21 to the tuning technology will make N6 completely different.

How did it sound when paired with the AKG Q701?

@AprilRyan
TBH I find the C5 to sound great with everything I've tried it with, the Q701 are no exception.

Nice review, interested in maybe trying it one of these days.

About the e12 comparison:

The only time I hear audible noise/hiss on my fiio e12 is if it's being charged at the same time as I'm using it or if if I set it to high gain, 2 things I never do with it. I only use it as a bass boost device when I need it though, I've got a separate amp when I need transparency (which is most of the time).

@DreamKing
Thank you!

As stated in the comparison with the E12 the hiss is mostly audible with easy to drive IEM's so I guess it depends on what IEM's/headphones you use it with.
