Great review of a still relatively unknown product! I'm enjoying mine a lot.

A fantastic review (as usual) thanks!

I am so interested in Campfire...I wish there were more places to demo. I'll have to hope for a meet or something (there seem to be no good trade shows in NYC...go figure!) I've been really interested in hearing these & the q-Jays...I usually do like linear bass, but I do need some impact (I found Etys to be a little too little, Shure 535 closer to perfect). I think I'm starting to lean more towards the sound as a whole as opposed to "I need bass/treble" etc. I found myself really enjoying the Meze Classic 99 (not bass shy) more than i thought I would. It sounds like the Orion have that coherence of sound (although toned differently, obviously).

Thanks again!

Thanks gents.  Jinxy - the Orion's probably won't give you the bass impact, but I know what you mean about tonality.  If you can hang on a bit, I know Ken is working on some future releases which should be right up your alley.  I'm listening to some prototypes as I type, and they would pretty much match what you just described.  Can't say too much more because they are prototypes - but a little patience, and I think you'll find something eventually in the wind which will be perfect for you.

Thanks for the great review Paul. Small typo in the first paragraph - *gut* instead of *but*.

Thanks Craig.  Spell-checked twice, read through half a dozen times.  Missed it every time.  Genuine Homer (doh!) moment

Great review.
Makes me want to hear these. Comfort is huge with me, and it's hard to imagine having something being more comfortable than the Q's.
But the sonic quality is what makes me curious, and if they 'fix' the comfort issue...

You and I have similar tastes Richard - so I'd imagine they might rank quite well with you as well.  I just had to mail them off today - really sorry to see them go :frowning2:

Great review! Adding these to my earphone roaster. I will have to decide between the FLC8 S, Pinnacle P1, Campfire Orion and the upcoming DUNU DN-2002. Any references to the aforementioned list? I think we have similar preferences.

Thanks.  Haven't yet heard the new Dunus, and although someone was supposed to get in touch with me about the Pinnacles - so far I haven't heard from them.  I have the FLC8S and they will be reviewed after I finish with the Adel U6 (I'm working on that now).  The FLC8S are another great earphone.  Would be a hard call against the FLC8S - both have their strengths (versatility vs excellent default tuning // Slightly better comfort vs superior build and cable).

I've read a lot of your reviews and I'm just stunned at the amount of work you put in, so I had to post a message to say thank you and you rock! This stuff is very helpful for anyone who owns less than 100 headphones and who is trying to make sense of the ever-growing earphone market.
