I think the Tsuranangi looks a bit like the Cypher Labs Theorem 720 !

$2700??? What….

Isn’t it just easier to buy a high-end music player like from Ibasso or Astell&Kern and call it a day?

Easier ? The amp section on ibasso and A&K fall way short in comparison to Tsuranagi it's also able to drive most headphones. You're better off using a Hiby r6pro ii and tsuranagi.

Who uses a separate amp for IEMs that can't even power headphones?

Thanks @FunkyBassMan! It's a custom Aroma Jewel with 1950s Shielding cable

Was nice to read. But all these “sound improvements” means that the amplification of listed Daps is just not good enough.
Of course, separate devices are usually better because all space is used for only one purpose, but a separate amp just for iems it's just.....why?Just buy dap with the normal amplification part:)
I’m ok with portable amps that could be used for iem and OEM cuz they have real cases but this is 2700 just for iems- not a fair deal if you ask me..

@FunkyBassMan but it can and easily it has plenty of pot left with Diana v2 and d8kproLE.

@LuckyPantsu yet I preferred every IEM through my Tsuranagi+rs8 over Zahl HM1 and Weiss 502

For those commenting on Tsuranagi's IEM only status, I have updated the review with a edited statement about power.

*** EDIT - After the release of this review I have received quite a few PMs and comments about the Tsu being only made for IEMs. I quoted the Brise website for this statement, as I am not a HP user. In fact many people have reported to me the Tsu does indeed work really well for a large array of full size headphones. So just keep in mind the Tsu was designed for IEMs, but is not limited to just that.

@wazzupi , wow any iems that outperform Zahl-that is nice. Unfortunately, I don't know any iems that could be even close to normal headphones... Especially in terms of soundstage that not even exist if we talk about iems.

@Tokpakorlo thanks for the clarification regarding amplification iems that is only from
their site ( is it weird?). I checked and it says that it's 1000mW to 32Ohms which is definitely enough for some OEMs also , sad that they have not shared info about Ampers :frowning2:

@LuckyPantsu it's not so much the IEM bests headphones it's the Tsuranagi makes my iems sound better or give it what i want vs the hm1. HM1 is still better for headphones by a large margin.

At this price people might pass this on buying , but very good item anyway :relaxed:

I played the T+A Solitaire P and DCA Stealth from the Tsuranagi. It's an expansive device but it can compete against desk headlamp even at this price point.

@wazzupi does it improve the sound of D8000 as much as it improve the sound of IEMs or is it just a subtle improvement for headphones?
D
Delacaff
Yes it does improve the D8 rendering. The D8 is bassy / warm headphones with great depth (this explaining that). The Tsu is bringing the voice of the D8 a greater separation / layering of the instruments, and a wider soundstage.

@swedishpat sorry I missed this but yes what @Delacaff said. Which also seem to be the universal/common finding of what Tsuranagi does to a majority of what you would plug into it.

Great review. As A100TB owner. Appreciate it. I tried MASS-Kobo 475 today and compare it with A100TB. Probably exactly thing can be said with you TSURANAGI review. It's a more elegance approach and A100TB is more energetic.
