It's really hard to get a handle on some of these good sounding, "budget" Asian earphones.  There's a similarity in sound and in construction that suggests that the different brands (and most have their own website page)--Brainwavz, JBM, Awei, Xiaomi--are coming from the same manufacturing source.  And even within a single brand, there's no clear graduation in quality or price in as many as 8 or more models with different numbering. The allure seems more based on the "illusion of choice," with little more than different shapes and different colors differentiate these products. I wonder if any are moving to a phone that has a double speaker or speaker plus armature, etc., which we associate with the truly ultra high-end models.

The prices can be wilder than the quality, or from $2 (on an auction deal) to $40 and up. But I'll grant you that I have yet to hear one that sounds bad or that seriously distorted the original source material.  (But beware of non-branded generics, some of which appear to be Beats look-alikes. All it takes is a single chord played on the piano to compell me to toss them in the garbage.  I would never risk tainting, or even injuring, someone else's hearing by giving such wretched imposters away.

P.S. For a kick, check out the Awei site's home page and it's pitch for its latest variation on a theme.  It's called the ES-860HI, and the claim on it's behalf is: "More Remarkable than the iPhone 6!"  http://en.awei.hk
