I owned and loved the QC15 for years. Hearing how good the QC25 is from a fellow STAX owner is inspiring indeed! Added to my gigantic wish list. lol

If you love the QC15, you will definitely enjoy the QC25.
Nothing I tried on a plane and now, in some noisy summer evening beats it.
Considering our investment in the SR-009, the extension cord for it cost more than the QC25. LOL

In my opinion, your review is significant because:
1) you own a very impressive inventory of high end headphones and associated equipment, which means you should have a very good idea of what high end headphone sound can be,
and
2) in spite of owning such an impressive high end inventory, you still kept an open mind about Bose, which it is fashionable for us audiophiles to bash, and listened to them for yourself. When you said you were stunned, that suggests that you had a negative expectation before listening. But you listened anyway, and then you trusted your own ears.
So to me, this has the hallmarks of a credible review. It shows that satisfaction can be had with less costly gear, and that this is true even for people who own expensive/high end/etc. gear.
It's great that you shared this and it shows that you're not a snob, but instead a discerning audiophile who judges product offerings on their (perceived) merit, and one who is willing to share such an experience in the form of a well-written review that's posted in a public forum.
