Brilliant review. I own the T8iemii - precursor to this headphone. I absolutely love mine. It's almost got a tube - ish sound. I can only imagine how improved the Xelento 2 is...
Hey @rasmushorn, thank you for your review. I've also read your reviews on the T1/T5 3. gen a few months ago and I would like to ask you, how they are compared to the xelentos 2. gen. Maybe apples with oranges, but I never had iems and you describe the sound of the X 2. as big. Bigger than the T1 or T5? Is it just the tuning you prefer?
Hi @SilentP11 sorry for the VERY late replay, I hadn't seen your question here until now. Maybe it is already too late to offer any helpful reply? But the latest T1 and T5 are probably from the same family but still different than the 2nd gen Xelentos to my ears. The full size headphones are tuned darker than Xelentos and I think they lacked balance and midrange. At least it took me a long time to adjust to their sound. I do not find the Xelento that demanding to adjust to. They do have more bass than my Etymotic IEM's but it is a balanced amount of bass. They have air and space and very wide stage and together with a full punchy sound, they strike me as having a BIG sound. T1 and T5 3rd gen are also sounding big but I missed some treble and midrange sparkle. I do not miss anything with the Xelento and they continue to be pleasing and fulfilling to listen to even after many months now. I hope this was helpful somehow.
Hey @rasmushorn, thank you for your detailed reply. I got a really good offer 2 weeks ago and just bought them. I like them very much, they are so well balanced with a little bass emphasis, that I really like for my kind of music. My T5 are for sale right now, because I just like the xelentos 2 more and they are a great option, if you need some kind of a closed back advantage. I have to say though, that they are very close in signature to my T1 3. I can switch between them very easily. I don't know if that is because of the new pads they sell with the T1 3.(they are more like the pads of the dt 1990 pro). I need no adjustment when switching between these two.
