LOL its great but will never have the title of Best headphone in the world(leave that to the HD 800 :p), its like a top tier fighter who never became champion.

Respectfully disagree :) You can't just attach a HD800 to any rig and sound good, but the T1 does it in stride. I'm done with those picky HD800's lol.

I think the best headphone in the world honors goes to the SR009, the practical TOTL award goes to the T5p, and the rest of the flagships are pretty much tied up there for their balance of sound and practicality.

Except for the ED10, it belongs down there

That's all subject to debate XxDobermanxX. I personally prefer the T1 to the HD800, but they're in the exact same class of sound.

Beyerdynamic is underated because its not as "aggressive and in your face" as the grado JK, :)) instead of being "laid back" like sennheiser :))

The fact is, I've heard the HE-6, LCD-2, HD800, T1, GS-1, ED10 and all have their strengths or weaknesses. However, if you have a choice of only one set of headphones for "everything" the T1s beat all of them, especially in terms of comfort. After all, we only have 1 set of ears, I can afford more than one set of flagship headphones, but seriously whats the point other than some odd bragging right in your sig. I hate using different headphones for different genres, it's too annoying and is a waste of $$ that can be spent elsewhere.

@brunk you know i was making a joke with that comment right ? , i have never heard the T1 but what i have seen in this forum is when someone ask for a top headphone the HD 800 and LCD-2 is the first thing mentioned. so maybe it's underlooked and underecommended, much like when people ask for a starter headphone , the first thing people say is oh "the ath m50" before even asking what genre the person listens to.

@XxDobermanxX - Eh, it's too hard to tell it was a joke as you can't translate sarcasm and body language through text, your comment is noted as such now :p

I currently have the T1's on loan, but have to send them back on Monday....not looking forward to that day. I still have other cans lined up to try; the HE-500 and HE-6 are up next. After that I'm going to try the LCD-2, HD700, and HD800. I've been going back and forth with my feelings of the T1. I will agree that they CAN have a wonderful sound, all encompassing, smooth yet detailed mids, great soundstage, imaging, and just flat out addicting sound. However, it makes bad recording glare like the sun in your eyes. I'd hate to have to cut out a certain portion of my listening material simply because I own a headphone that makes it unlistenable. For this reason, I'm thinking that the LCD-2 might cater to my needs more, but time will tell.

@jsplice- I understand when you say "bad recordings" sounding really bad, but I personally don't recommend getting a pair of headphones that glosses over ALL your music. I recommend getting a really good sounding DAC and amp, you'll be pleased. I have actually never enjoyed live recording more, and those sound way worse than a studio recording. I still have ultra transparent music too. Don't settle!

I don't know if there really are any headphones at this level that will gloss over everything (LCD-2, T1, HD800, HE-500, etc.). My DAC is a PS Audio DL III, which is pretty good. I also have a decent vinyl rig as well. Amp is a Schiit Lyr, which I'm looking forward to hearing with all the orthos out there.
