These sounded okay but the price is more for the looks. You can buy a HD25, Clip + and portable Dac/Amp for the price of the 'Pro', good grief. The last sentence of the review is pretty much the best part...

Comparing the hd 25 1 ii to the beats pros is like comparing apple and windows. It is true the hd 25 1 ii is more dynamic and better value but the beats pros sound more fun for certain genres. I am not stating the beats are worth their price or that i recommend experienced audiophiles go and buy them, I am stating that for people who want to get a decent pair of headphones but don't want to do massive amounts of research online and possibly buy a headphone they don't like should perhaps consider these. Of all of the beats headphones these are the only ones i think are any good. Solos are harsh and muddy, Studios are again muddy. Pros are again slightly muddy but in a way that destracts from the defacts in obviously badly recorded music. These do what i feel high end audio should do. Make everything fun and enjoyable.

At the end of the day most other head-fiers just shake their head in shame looking at you. It's just to much to fork over. There are plenty of fun sounding cans out there for better prices. I could never justify these when my IE8's wipe the floor with them and yes I've done comparisons.

I still have vmoda m80s and shure srh940s coming in. I have enough headphones to have a reputation. If i want to throw money at these i will.

I know they sound good. But again. Price range is filled with much better headphones. I'd buy the shells from you to rip out the drivers and put some KSC75's in them.

I thought i should emphasize on here that dynamically my shure srh840 is still my best headphone.

Hey bcasey25raptor. I saw your review on the sidelines while browsing the forum and thought I'd add my 2 cents. Head-fiers tend to be an elitist bunch, and it's an unfortunate reality that individuals are judged as people often times based on what headphones they own. This makes them no better than those calling you out for NOT wearing Beats, really. It's just another side to the same ugly posturing.
Our hobby is about audio ENJOYMENT, and I think a lot of "audiophiles" lose track of that when they get swept up in trying to find "the best" this or that for their money. Value is subjective. No, these don't sound natural and may be about selling an image, but the important point is that you found these enjoyable. Your review pointed out a specific application for these rather than blindly nerd rage against them, so I think it's perfectly valid. If you find Beats enjoyable, hey, more power to you. You rightly point out that Beats can, and have, served as a gateway into bigger and better things. We all have to start somewhere.
So yes, thanks for your honest review. It would have been much easier for you to simply bash these, and you would have gained a lot of nods and knowing winks in support, but you tried to be objective about it, and I can appreciate that.

Bcasey25raptor, if you enjoy your 'Beats Pro' so be it. What sounds good is good and that is for each of us to decide. The price for this headphone just makes me cringe...

Notice I said most head-fiers, I never said I did. You took one for the team and people do appriciate that. I think they do quite well at electronic and rap personally. I wouldn't buy them personally because I don't have the money to throw around but I was never actually hating on you for doing so. Can't wait to see the Rainbow Dash M80s

Purchased mainly by rich teens and 20's folk that know no better. Much as I tried I could not persuade my friends teen son to buy a pair of Senn's... they weren't 'cool' enough.
Yes, coolness can win over sound anyday with the younger crowd!

I much prefer Sennheiser anyway but at least now that I own both I can invite people over to decide for themselves. Sennheiser has a vastly superior history and is known for quality products. Monster makes over priced cables so owning their products is more a status symbol. One of these days I will own a $1000 pair and that will be the day people will take me seriously. For $130 you can get the srh840 which sounds better but most people can't get past the aesthetics.

No criticism of you. I have actually listened to the Beats Pro, and they weren't bad at all, may be even good, but I cannot reconcile that with the price he paid (£340 in the UK, well over $500).
They leaks no sound though. That is pretty impressive at high volumes and why he went for closed phones. You would hear the 650's the other side of the street )))
Companies like Senn have decades of building quality - I'd argue that for general usage they make the worlds best headphone range by a wide margin (some crap, many good, some excellent).
