Awesome review! These would be at the top of my list, along with KEF, if I ever decide to get a portable closed headphone again. For now though, it's CIEM on the go and HD600 indoors

Great. And how do you connect it to an amp? The cable that comes with it won't work with any plug or cable adaptors I have. 

Isn't it a normal 3.5mm plug? With a 1/4" adaptor that should work with any amp.

I am using a 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter, but I've noticed that some adapters don't work because of the H6 cable's TRRS plug. For example, I bought a cheap adapter from Best Buy that was TRS instead of TRRS, and I heard tons of input from the cable's microphone.

The specific adapter that worked for me is the Sony PC-234S Audio Plug Adaptor.

I recently got H6 also,
I found that the original cable really sucks!
It downgrades the audio quality in all aspects.
 
I changed to a Furutec OFC cable...Completely a new world.
The cable is too thin...for headphone and the mic control reduce much of the quality.

Highly recommend you guys change the CABLE!

Thanks, Mumbles 119! I have not tried my H6 with a portable amp, but I would suspect you'll hear a substantial increase in bass (vs a standard built-in phone amp).

I totally agree with you.  Bass could be more thundering but I did not care after listening after a while because I thought it was extremely pleasant and musical.
