Great review, I just traveled 8 hours in the car listening to the LCD-XC's the whole way and am thinking about a long winded description of the experience.  Short version - I wanted to trip to last longer.

thinking seriously about pulling the trigger on these... curious how they will sound relative to the T5p I been using connected to my WA7.  I am interested in something that will not necessarily 'beat' the T5p (because I love how they sound) but give a different interpretation of the music for me to enjoy equally.

then I think the XC would be a great choice @groovyd !! I love the fact that you're not looking for something to "beat" the T5p (as the chase never ends, but the journey's the thing - as said in Homer) but give you a different interpretation to "enjoy equally". I think the Audeze's will give you another glimpse into the music you love so much.

how the xc compares to the x ?

Headamp GS-X, Bakoon HPA-21 or DNA Stratus ,Woo WA6-SE , Woo 234 monoblocks,alo pan am which would pair best to a lcd-x or lcd-xc

the X has the physical advantage, being open, so the obvious you'd think of first (wider soundstaging) - but the bass response on the XC not only punches, but it almost slams like an open-back - and I don't know how they managed to make it so airy. I love em both, but IF I had to choose, I'd pick the X. and I'd take those AMAZING 234 monoblocks over any of those listed above (and I own a few).

I tried.  I resisted.  I put up a pretty good fight...I dreaded reading this review. I avoided it like the plague...and THIS is EXACTLY WHY...
 
It's not like I needed to brag online about owning them...it's not that I need to beat others to the punch, and hurry up and buy them, because honestly, you couldn't get them here fast enough.  It's not that I read about them, and now I think I know ALL about them.  It's WORSE than that...  
 
All I want to do is experience them.  I want to see, hear, feel everything this review just stated.  It's personal, emotional, and intimate.  Nobody can the same way about anything, we're human.  The best review in the world will not persuade you to own a product.  Anyone with a credit card can do that.   The best review will make you want the product...need the product.  Want to touch it, feel it, experience it. It will make you lay awake at night wishing and hoping...that one day...one day, you will connect with something...the way they connected.  
 
I have never owned a pair of Audeze's....they have ALWAYS owned me!

Now THAT - is a line I wish I woulda written!
