Great review! I bought CKR100i, and I am looking for an upgrade cable, great sound, but the scene is not superb . I can't find ETHOS cable nowhere. Where did you buy it from, or any alternatives?
thanks

@alnasique ; Actually, after extended use, i must say the cable doesn't make a big difference. You can buy any cheap A2DC cable with better flexibility and that should do. I hated the stiff cable initially, and that drove me to get a better one. The sound difference that i perceived may well be a placebo effect.

@alnasique You can try playing with the tips, if you have sony hybrids, or JVC spirals, i'd suggest try them. The stock ATH tips makes the bass a bit bigger which i usually don't prefer. Also, try listening at a lower volume, and you can see a nice soundstage presented to you, in a very subtle manner.

Hello iems0nly and Wannabenewton, I read your reviews, purchased the ATH-CKR100iS, and I am blown away by them. They are incredible.

I have a question down below.

iems0nly's comments on the E70 has caused me to purchase a Amazon Renewed E70 for $299. Sold by Amazon. They have more if interested.

Can't wait to get them.

One quick question for both of you.

I am not as good as music as you two however I do have a song 'Green Aphrodisiac' by Corrine Bailey Rae that I use to compare headphones.

This song has lots of Soundstage and different distinct sounds.

Can you two please listen to this song and tell me if this is a song worthy of being someones reference song?

FYI, ATH-CKR100iS have the same sound as my MSR7's however MSR7's need power added by a USB Amp attached to my Note 10+ to sound good. MSR7's also have slightly slightly less bass. ATH-CKR100iS sound loud just attaching directly to my Note 10+.

Thank you. Looking forward to my E70.

Hi @Anthonykitmcinnis Any song that you know like the back of your hand would do as a good reference song. It's better to use a track which covers the sound spectrum, like some bass guitar, vocals, and some highs -cymbals, chimes etc. I did checkout 'Green Aphrodisiac', and sure this is a good reference track :)
The E70 is a good earphone, but i really rank the CKR100s much higher than the E70s because of the latter's natural sound. Here's my little ranking list, check em out. E70s have sharp treble and shows a lot of sibilance. However, they still extract lot of micro details which will be mind-blowing initially. If you listen to a lot of vocals, especially female vocals, the E70s might really bother you with the sibilance problem. Let me know how you like the E70s.
