Humorous and to the point - enjoyed reading this review. I also have found the AK players amongst the best (and i only have the AK100II, but now i want the AK120II)...however much i want to like other seemingly better value players.

I also have the X5 (classic) as a back up dap, but I stacked it up with a Cayin C5 amp and never took that one off (such an upgrade in sq for such a small price) again. This new AK120 II for only $1K => congrats, it looks great in the pics! Endgame dap for you?

I can certainly see it as an endgame solution. Will it be? Who knows. On terms of pure sound quality and UI, I have a real hard time imagining a better DAP.
With the X5, which I love, I could at least dream of something nicer. Not so with the AK120ii. I think it's going to be with me for a long, long time.
