@YoYo JoKeR : very detailed review!  I know you mentioned they are on a heavier side, but do you think you can add/post another picture with K812 next to your HD800 and LCD2, just for size comparison?  It will give a better perspective of size when they are next to each other.  Thanks!!!

Comprehensive review. In the review details ratings your review (as well as others) doesn't give a particularly high rating for sound quality. Is it because these are monitoring headphones and not as enjoyable as other (less high quality more coloured) headphones. If I was spending £1K in the UK for these I would be hoping the audio quality slider was a bit more than 85%.

The whole point of headphones like these is not enhance music to the point where it masks any potential problems. They are designed for the studio environment or anywhere critical listening is essential and makes you money.

These would be my dream headphones next to the Sennheiser HD800 and Denon DA-300 to drive them or a SPL Phonitor 2. But anyway daydreams aside.....

So these are name suggest are monitoring headphones you get what you pair for. They come highly recommended by Inner Fidelity also.

So anybody needs a spare organ, just private mail me for details. Although that could be a painful way to pay for a pair.

I just watched Hifi guys review of the Denon DA-300USB which has revised my opinion slightly although it does give me a base point.

@Sefelt103 - I had around 30-40 hours with the AKG K812 in my own home - and although YYJ doesn't mention it, the K812 does have issues with a slightly uneven treble - which can be a little jagged with some tracks.  It doesn't happen often - but when it does, you can hear it.  It just becomes peaky or strident. A lot of reviewers (including Tyll) have mentioned it.  I also mentioned it in my T1/K812 comparison.  Also - the green category bars are an acumulation of all reviews - they aren't necessarily the mark that YYJ gave.

@Brooko - So perhaps the uneven treble explains the Sennheiser HD555 level audio quality rating. Alot of these high end headphones seem to suffer with treble issues.
