just tried out cyrillic's gilmore lite (new version with stock wall wart, no PSU ). wow, clear and focused sound with good dynamics, what a great bargain at 299. it certainly gave RA-1 and XP7 a run of their $$$. highly recommended.

grabbed a barely used flavor 4 cord with furutech ends from audiogon and it came yesterday, it's plugged into my amp. the cord sounds very similar to the VD nite II (a bit less refined, maybe need more burn-in), but for the price (1/4 of a new nite II) it is amazing. highly recommended.

its funny...i didn't notice serious clipping at all when i enabled the alps volume pot. the clipping only completely disappeared after i used the foobar EQ to drop everything by 6db... can someone explain what happened?

just got my 3m ps audio statement powercord, oh boy its big, stiff and heavy , can't really lift the cable up with 1 hand. a nice improvement over the zu mother soundwise, fuller bass and smoother vocals...speed and details are similar.
