Quote: I bought Ultrasonic Rx per your posting and am so surprised by how much they improved the sounds. I have used cheap tube dampers before but have not seen this level of improvement. Thanks for your recommendation.- cuonghuutran

+1. I moved up to Audeze LCD 2 r2. I have to say this HD 650 is the best value. Very neutral. Very comfortable. Great sound.- cuonghuutran

I use PS Power Plant and switching power cable to LF made subtle improvements only. I find shielding the wireless router, AC filtering the PC, and moving the hard disks outside of my PC made more noticeable improvement than tube rolling.- cuonghuutran

Great. I will give it a try when the CD arrives. My source and cables are top-notch (Kimber Select KS-2020 and Audioquest Amazon). How wide and how deep (like 2 ft or 20 ft)? Have fun with your LF and tube rolling. Thanks. --Cuong Quote:- cuonghuutran

I would love to have LCD-3 with LF because with LCD-2 it's already very good. I just have to save more for LCD-3. With more tweaks, the sound stage is outside my head. With Buena Vista download from HD-tracks, it feels like the singer is in the middle with the band forming a circle around him...- cuonghuutran

Saying that I like them is an understatement. It would be insane to buy LF and not switching to these tubes. They improve sound over JJ in almost every aspect, sound has more body, weightier bass, liquid voice, clarity in highs. and even sound stage. Voices of the choirs in Carmina Burana are...- cuonghuutran

My tubes Gold Lion arrived. Not fully burn in yet but sounds very promising. Seems like it's worth the $ to upgrade. Thanks for recommendations on this site.- cuonghuutran

In my stash of tubes since the earlier days, I found 2 Mullards 12AX7, new. Is it advisable to replace just 2 tubes to see the difference? If so, which tubes in the amp that I can replace? thanks.- cuonghuutran

Sorry for being off-topic here. For me, USB does not work as well as SPDIF via Asus Essence PCI-X card. SPDIF wins hands down with much quieter and transparency. It could be USB implementation of my PC is poor. Quote:- cuonghuutran

Thanks for your response. This board is so damaging to my wallet. I probably try the Gold Lions tubes and then save up for LCD3. Quote:- cuonghuutran

My dilemma now is whether to save up for upgrade to LCD-3 and experiment with tube rolling. I suspect upgrading to LCD-3 would yield better return for the $? Did anyone compare LCD2 vs. LCD3 with LF? Thanks.- cuonghuutran

NEW! Musical Fidelity M1 DAC "A" for Asynchronous USB Input, Unboxing Video
Quote: I tried USB and got signal drop-off. Then I tried TOS (optical SPDIF) on motherboard, which is definitely an improvement over USB. Quieter background, more details. Then I tried Asus Essence soundcard, using SPDIF. This is the best with even quieter background and tons of details...- cuonghuutran

Prior to LF, my amp is HeadRoom Max. It is actually a very good amp. Really dynamic, powerful and very resolving and smooth for a SS .... Well, LF is like a fine wine. Once tasting it, it's so difficult to go back to the lesser one. LF is transparent, totally quiet, and resolves details even...- cuonghuutran

For now, just above average. LF opens up and bass gets heftier after overnight burn-in. This is going to be an amazing amp. Quote:- cuonghuutran

Yes, I use JJ as shipped. I understand new tubes sound thin -- I used to have ARC tube power amp and CJ tube pre-amps. Does tube burn-in improve weight of bass?- cuonghuutran

Hi, how does LF sound transform after 200 hour burn-in? The sound is a bit thin (expected) but the bass is lacking. My other headphone amp is Headroom Max and headphones are LCD-2 r2. HeadroomMax does not resolve details as well as LF but it delivers gut wrenching bass. Did I miss anything...- cuonghuutran
