They do not isolate enough to drown out others talking, but they isolate enough that you don't notice other people talking unless you want to.

if you can find a hard plastic eartip it will offer you good isolation. i find the ones that come with the eterna are too soft and comfy to isolate much noise

There's plastic wrapped around the wire under the cloth/   I know this because the cloth on mine kept breaking, and I would have to cut it at those points so the cloth wouldn't bend the cable in a u shape. Never buying Klipsch again.

i usually stick them in deeper for more isolation. i think your ears are getting tired/expanding, i know my ears expanded as i started using iems.

use shure tips if you have them, thats what im using with the IE 10's, which i got 1 week ago. the seal is much better imo. sadly, the cable is starting to weaken at the connector, so its now exclusively for computer use.
