The Dash - Wireless Smart In-Ear Headphones
I have a set in order now. Latest update two days ago was to say they're aiming for mid-Feb at the moment, as they're achieving 75%-85% success rates for waterproofing, which they are working to improve.- Philski

Bang & Olufsen U70: K100 killer!
I found a pair when rooting through some old boxes - can't have seen daylight for at least ten years, and was surprised not only that they were working, but that they sounded really quite good, given that they're >30 years old! iMod amped through an iBasso D10 Cobra, high gain and volume up...- Philski

Been out of the loop! Best recommendations for open headphones around £100/$150?
Hi All, I haven't been here for a while, and it has really grown! There is so much more information to trawl through to find what you're looking for... whilst I will be trying to do that anyway, I wanted to see what the latest top recommendations would be for a pair of full-sized (over the...- Philski

The Dash - Wireless Smart In-Ear Headphones
Same here. This is what they have to say about the sound: What is the sound quality like? The sound quality is dependent on a range of things. Your content has to be of a sufficient quality. If your phone supports aptX, you will be able to transmit CD-like quality audio stream to...- Philski

DAC upgrade suggestions (if necessary?)
My current and fairly established (=happy) setup comprises of my laptop to an iBasso D10 (DAC section only) -> Burson AB-160 Buffer -> Little Dot MKIV-LE with upgraded tubes. I'm thinking of getting an M2Tech hiFace interface to see whether there's an improvement over the current USB...- Philski

Best headphones for bicycling?
Some good comments here, but I think what comes out of it all is to take personal responsibility. If you're a cyclist (again, I have over ten years' experience cycling on and around London's busiest roads and streets), you're the most vulnerable and squishiest thing on the road - act...- Philski

LittleDot MK3 + Buzzing sound
I had exactly the same problem a couple of years ago, and you're right, this is entirely due to the power supply to your laptop. Great news for you though, you can fix this by spending no more than about £5 or $5 - you need a 'ground loop isolator'. Here's one I picked out entirely at...- Philski

Need Recommendation: Affordable Tube Amp for K701
Bear in mind that I don't have experience with a broad range of amps, I have been loving my Little Dot MK IV (SE) with my K701s for some time now. I can't comment on the MK II & MKIII, but maybe compare their specs and decide for yourself.- Philski

Personally, I do not have any issues with sending overseas, nor buying from abroad. The occasional hiccup but nothing major. But just one really bad experience would probably change that.- Philski

Lossless WMA portable DAP with toslink digital out.
No, the Q5/Q5W doesn't have a Toslink/optical out, I'm afraid. Coaxial, yes, but no optical. As far as I know, only the iRiver H1xx series had an optical out, but since they are discontinued you'll have to search hard to find one, most probably used.- Philski

Why bother with portable amps ?
The main reason for using an amp with a portable DAP is that you can bypass the unit's own internal amplifier, which is usually of a poorer quality than an external portable amp. This only holds true with units that have a true line-out (e.g. iPod) or optical out (e.g. iRiver Hxxx series); the...- Philski

Best headphones for bicycling?
Excellent, at last a thread that I feel fully qualified to comment on! I have always listened to music whilst riding...- Philski
