Bear in mind that I don't have experience with a broad range of amps, I have been loving my Little Dot MK IV (SE) with my K701s for some time now. I can't comment on the MK II & MKIII, but maybe compare their specs and decide for yourself.

No, the Q5/Q5W doesn't have a Toslink/optical out, I'm afraid. Coaxial, yes, but no optical. As far as I know, only the iRiver H1xx series had an optical out, but since they are discontinued you'll have to search hard to find one, most probably used.

Not had that exact problem, but I did have an issue with my laptop not detecting my D10 when plugged into one of the USB ports. It was suggested to try a different port - problem solved. I don't know whether trying a different port might sort out your problem, though...
