Balanced Power!
For my B24 build I built a soft start circuit by having a solid state relay (the same 40A one in the BOM) shorting out a 25 watt 30ohm resistor. I used a 556 timer from radio shack and wired one timer as monstable that triggered when the power supply goes on and the second timer as an inverting...- akcrusier

Twisted Pear Buffalo Sabre DAC
Sorry for the post earlier. It turns out I had the switch reversed on my B24 build which I just finished. It took me four hours to figure out that all I had to do was flip the switch to unbalanced. Needless to say it all works now. So far I am not all that impressed though I am using the volume...- akcrusier

Twisted Pear Buffalo Sabre DAC
Ok I know this is a stupid question. I finished my B24 a few days ago and so I promised my friends a party where I could show off my sound system. Anyway I am having a little problem with the Buffalo32. Specifically I am not getting a lock on anything. I am feeding it via a TP USB reciver via...- akcrusier

β24: A discrete, cascoded, fully-differential power amplifier
Another B24 lives! It took me almost exactly a year (high school interfered during the winter) After many mistakes, and alot of help from AMB my amp finally works! Picasa Web Albums - Gregory - B24 I have yet to listen to it with a good pair of speakers yet (the veneer is still drying on those)...- akcrusier

Installing LED/Analog Vu Meter to Front Panel
I know this is a bit off topic but I was wondering where zkool448 sourced those feet? I have been looking all over for some like those at a reasonable price.- akcrusier

β24: A discrete, cascoded, fully-differential power amplifier
Someone on another thread asked for details on my uncompleted B24 build so here they are. I have finished one channel so far and tested it with a very poor pair of old speakers. I am not really sure how it sounds beyond the fact that it obviously has tons of power (more than I will ever need)...- akcrusier

What preamps do you use for non-headphone applications?
I am working on a RelaiXed http://http://jos.vaneijndhoven.net/relaixed/index.html It features a gain of about 3X and has 3 balanced and switched inputs. I liked the design because it has a relay resistor attenuator and relay source switcher, a IR reciever, and a gainstage/powersupply all on the...- akcrusier

Installing LED/Analog Vu Meter to Front Panel
I would love a DIY version of the VU meters that are on the front of McIntosh amps. We dont have that many nice stores in Alaska so I heard/saw a McIntosh for the first time today. I think one of those VU meters would look really good on the front of my AMB B24.- akcrusier

Digital displays on σ22 and β22 - how hard?
There was a large VU meter that was posted as a project on sparkfun a while back that you might be able to refer to. Twisted Pear Buffalo Sabre DAC
I got mine too, and my wallet is significantly lighter now. I sent the FPE work in 2 days ago in anticipation. I am curious to see how it compares to my single Opus. One DAC will go in my home stero system the other one will come with me when I head off to college in the fall for my headphone...- akcrusier
