Good no-nonsense blanced XLR interconnects
I am looking for quality, no-nonsense (no 'audiophile' snakeoil bs) reasonably priced balanced interconnects with Neutrik connectors, length 1.5-2m (5-6ft).I know about BJC, I've used their single-ended ICs before and have been pleased, so I am looking for alternatives in a similar price range...- MadMan007

first IEM: ~$100(+/-$20) 'all arounder'
TL;DR VERSION: Looking for an all around IEM to use unamped that won't break the bank, with decent isolation, balanced to slightly dark/bassy (but not bloated/boomy) sound but with non-rolled off highs. Good details but not something that constantly screams for attention (fatiguing.) This is...- MadMan007

constant craches - IE8 & Vista x64
I've been getting constant and repeating browser crashes that result in the 'recovery attempt' dialog box in IE8. It was a struggle just getting to post this as it seems a little random. I have been viewing Head-Fi less than previously but if I get constant crashes I just can't view at all.- MadMan007

Have people forgotten what the '-fi' in Hi-fi means?
It means fidelity. I've never really read this forum but people are putting -fi on everything like it's butter. It makes very little sense in most cases. Dog-fidelity? Cat--fidelity? Backpack-fidelity? Come on people, loosen up on the hi-fi obsession a little bit!- MadMan007

Digital Coax length question
Hi. I've read somewhere or another, and probably at multiple places, that digital coax cable length can affect the signal quality due to signal reflection, standing waves or some other explanation. From a long time ago I am familiar with but forgetful about signal reflection and/or ringing in RF...- MadMan007

Monarchy Audio speaker amps
There is a fair amount on this forum about Monarchy Audio DACs and their PIC unit but I haven't found much more than passing comments about their speaker amps. Does anyone have any, tried any, heard any and if so what are your thoughts?- MadMan007

quick & easy: Squeezebox -> DAC
I have a feeling I know what people are going to say already but figured I'd throw it out there. What's the preferred method for connceting a Squeezebox (Classic in this case) to a DAC? I was going to get either one of the 'no-name' 280 strand glass optical cables which are really the same as...- MadMan007

quickie - burning in HDAMs
Hey. I bet this is posted somewhere buried in one of many 50++ page threads but I just can't be asked searching through all of them, sorry It's pretty easy though - I've got a Compass and have had enough time to fully burn in the Earth HDAM. I was hoping to use other equipment to burn-in a Moon...- MadMan007
