Anyone have anyexperience with amp and the AKG k601 and Grado SR60?

I'm using this at the moment, not in a gold finish but silver. Well not actually made of silver but you get the idea. Like an earlier poster said, just turn down the volume gradually. Your ears will adjust naturally and it'll feel as if it was just as loud as before. A few other tips: 1. While in a quiet room, find a good volume mark. Use it as reference for all other times. So try not to deviate from it...

It's a great deal, too bad it's only 30 gig. I've had one for 2-3 years but recently i dropped it on the floor by accident and now the headphone-out is broken. But when it did work, i have to say it really sounded great. Bass is much better than on the ipods i've tried.

Hey guys Anyone have any experience with Western Electric 403B tubes? Yen audio has them for 36$ and i'm considering buying a pair.

Isn't the I+ a little to weak to drive the 240df? I thought that had a 600 ohm impedance or something. I'd ask in the dedicated thread before buying.

I'm using the 601 with the I+. Very happy with the combo. When it comes to burn-in, you've got a long road ahead of you. 300 hours is generally reccomended.

The only source i could find on the price is this one. 2995. AVforum.no - AVnytt : Abrahamsen V6.0 (DA-konverter - balansert - USB) and yes thats in norwegian.

One thing i'll heartily recommend, even for those here that rarely go to concerts. Get some musicians earplugs, i've found that they are really worth it. Cost me 35 bucks here in Norway, but if you're in the US it'd be less probably. It's made concerts more enjoyable and if I know that I'm going...

Have you burned them in? I don't know about the op-amp but burning in doesn't cost you anything so just wait a while and burn in. See what happens.

I have a K601, it sounds allright out of my old sony amp but i wouldn't use it with my TV. Not without an amp at least. So out of the two you've listed i'd go with the 240. But...I haven't heard it, i just know that the 601 probably isn't right for you.

The AKG K701 includes a stand. Other than that i don't know.

This helped a little, but the one thing that really helped me was thinking about it not as a curse but something i have to live with, which might not sound much different. But it works, I try to stress less, I try not to be irritated by it. And i take extra good care not to listen to music at...
