Wierd pain IN ears w/ Active Noise Reduction (PXC-250s)

well i'm not even sure our eardrums are receptive to the reciprocal noise...So far more than enough people on this thread have related similar experiences to make one think that sennheiser would offer some explanation or at least a professional....

Wierd pain IN ears w/ Active Noise Reduction (PXC-250s)

no. it's a sharp pain coming from as deep as the ear seems to get...from the eardrum I would guess. The wierd tunnel sound feels like a vacuum - a ton of empty space - in ur ear canal.

Wierd pain IN ears w/ Active Noise Reduction (PXC-250s)

I'm guessing this has something to do with the 'transparent' sounds that are being transmitted to cancel out the noise..It's funny, technically..we are hearing MORE sound...I don't know - a stupid guess. I let my friend try it on for a minute and even he said he felt the pain..Maybe some people...

Wierd pain IN ears w/ Active Noise Reduction (PXC-250s)

Well...I got the senns as a gift - so I didn't have a choice to go for the px200s. I just never liked the noise reduction - I always got this wierd sharp pain from the deep inside of my ear that would come and go. It didn't happen frequently but enough to stop using the noise reduction...

    VINYL/turntable HELP

I'm completely new to vinyl...have a couple of old records (relatives dumping some stuff on me) but no turntable to play 'em on. I want a turntable that is worth buying 180gram LPs for (as good or better than cd-sound)....but I don't want to shell out TONS o' cash for one either...my budget...

    Ety 4S/P Questions regarding Microphonics

damn - that's too bad. I'll lay off for now. I'm not willing to take any risks w/ 200$ at stake...Maybe I'll make use of headrooms 30day return policy one day..but until then my sr60s should do fine! thanks!

    Ety 4S/P Questions regarding Microphonics

Alright, so the microphonics can be reduced significantly. How about the footsteps? Are those thumps significant? (when I listen to music, i'm usually not doing anything else; so i'm pretty attentive and small sounds can bug me) Thanks..I just want a good pair o' phones that I can walk...

    Need jazz cd recommendation

Here are some classics; Saxaphone Collossus - Sonny Rollins (get the 20bitK2 remaster) Soul Station - Hank Mobley (Rudy Van Gelder Edition) Cookin' - Miles Davis Quintet (get the 20bitK2 remaster) And if you mean CONTEMPORARY jazz - then I simply cannot help you.

    Ety 4S/P Questions regarding Microphonics

The only reason I haven't even considered the 4p is the microphonic sound (i'm talking about one, the sound when you tap the cord and two, the sound when you walk and hear your footsteps). With the new braided cord - what changes are there EXACTLY? Can i walk around and hear nothing (but the...

    Brownie/Sonny Rollins' Fantasy/Emarcy-remasters

I own the Saxaphone Collossus OJC, remastered in '87. How is the 20bitK2-remaster in comparison? I own Clifford Brown's complete emarcy recordings (released in '89). The "At-Basin-St."-segments are w/ Rollins. How is the newly remastered "At Basin Street" in comparison? I think it's a verve...

Please recommend a Grateful Dead show

I'd say go with veneta (8.27.72) or a 77 show..may '77..5.8.77 perhaps...or 5.9..don't matter really.....the great thing 'bout the GD is the variety...'72 is infinitely different from '77 as is '74 n' '72 (to a lesser extent of course) etc etc... you could always email me if you wna get in...

    Grado SR-60 - Long Cord

with a rubber band I just wrap the cord (the part closest to the miniplug) until it's a desirable length - then tie it up w/ the band. It ain't much of a problem really.

    Good Jazz w/ good 'phones

"Medeski Martin and Wood - Tonic" - props to the man (or woman) who mentioned this one. MMW, acoustic MMW, is just too great a trio to miss. I recommend looking out for some of the "Tonic"-shows. Bt.etree.org KOB and ALS get a lot of credit, and rightfully so, but I still think many people...

    Good Jazz w/ good 'phones

I'm sure there are a bunch o' Jazz-fanatics on this board, curious as to whats currently in circulation. So lets name 5 albums we've listened2 & enjoyed recently, also - what in particular struck us about the album. I have just recently bought a pair of SR-60s so you can imagine how much...

This is gonna be a looong 3 weeks.

They only carry SR-60s..i'm pretty sure you could request or order other models through them. It was going for 4500...roughly 82 bucks, about 10$ -which makes sense and is surprisingly decent. The place is called AUDIODEN Unit C Ground Floor Mega state building G. Araneta Ave Corner...

    Newb in Need

they sound AMAZING unamped....and i'm not exaggerating....the sound seems to get better day by day (I purchased the cans two days ago..it's either 'breaking-in' or i'm getting accustomed to 'grado-sound'...either way looks like I made the right choice, for my needs, w/ the sr60s) If your...

    Newb in Need

Kassem, I haven't heard ANY other of the 'phones on your list. I also have JUST bought the grados. So, yes, I am slightly biased. But I suffered the same fears as you, comfortability, aesthetics (not as much though) , and portability issues (complaints about the thickness of the cord and...

    PXC-250s vs. Grado SR-60s

In a ways, yes my sr60s are a replacement. But moreso in terms of portability, i'm simply not ready to spend 150-200$ for a portable amp. I may be a newbie but I know enough to know that a typical sony discman CAN NOT drive a pxc-250 adequately. I enjoy listening to my senns through my vintage...

    PXC-250s vs. Grado SR-60s

I've just recently purchased the grados. They are quite impressive! The open-sound was a put off at first and it may seem off-hand that the senns have better resolution because of this but I'm realizing that this is not so. I've only had the grados a couple of hours so I still can't make a...
