Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
You could also try aftermarket pads. I like the Dekoni perforated leather pads on the HD600, they keep a great balance with deeper bass (however I think that perforations generally also alter the soundstage and presence of a headphone in a bad way).- mobbaddict

Best IEM tips?
Not sure but some of them look like Acoustune AET07 and AET16... Some of the Acoustune tips I got with my OG Timeless are really good by the way, sound has more texture then a lot of well known tip brands which often sound plasticky (that includes that JVC Spiral Dots which are overrated IMO). I...- mobbaddict

The New Tangzu Audio Zetian Wu Planar In-Ear Monitor
I have a question regarding Heyday vs OG Timeless: I understand based on the graphs and reviews that the Heydays should have more controlled bass, but what about the treble? Frequency response is very similar in the top end and I don't hear a noticeable difference in the YouTube demos. Are they...- mobbaddict

Audeze SINE Series
Yeah but I'm wondering if Vesper Audio could accommodate a special request if you asked them. Anyway good luck with the legal issue. On the same topic I've been wondering if Europe could force manufacturers to use standard dimensions and fixation systems for earpads to facilitate spare parts...- mobbaddict

PLANAR IEMs fans thread-Impressions, suggestions, ranking list, techs
Well that's what's really interesting with this IEM, the fact that you can easily switch between profiles... I think the reference profile sounds nice and is in line with how many mainstream IEMs and headphones sound these days, but it's just too much mid-bass overall. The monitor profile gives...- mobbaddict

PLANAR IEMs fans thread-Impressions, suggestions, ranking list, techs
This one does have some roll off on the measurements... Recently I got some Moondrop Space Travel just out of curiosity (I was looking for some TWS IEM for the office) and I was very surprised by the monitor profile on these. It's basically a flat line below 1khz with a smart slop in the subbass...- mobbaddict

Excellent, thank you! Sound pressure... that would explain the common belief that a bass shelf was seen as a must have for any IEM. This also means that from now on we need to pay closer attention to what gear is being used when looking at IEM measurements!- mobbaddict

PLANAR IEMs fans thread-Impressions, suggestions, ranking list, techs
Yes that was my understanding as well based on these different Harman target curves: No matter now much your own tastes match the harman target, there is indeed a +4db shelf on the in-ear target versus over-ear. I'm not sure about the technical explanation for that but it does correlate with...- mobbaddict

PLANAR IEMs fans thread-Impressions, suggestions, ranking list, techs
Is there any planar IEM with a flat bass profile and neutral target curve? I find it funny that almost all planar headphones have a flat bass but in the IEM world a minimum 5db boost has become the standard for everyone. I don't mind a slightly boosted bass but I think it's a bit too much if I...- mobbaddict

Best IEM tips?
The Spinfit CP500 are really worth having in your collection. They have a sound that is very airy and laid-back at the same time, which is not common. It's like a more open and impactful version of the Epro tips with a sightly more bland timbre. I find that they work really nice with the...- mobbaddict

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis
What's really interesting is his take on the different driver technologies though. We need more of these perspectives. These days I feel like the over abundance of headphones tends to blur the lines between dynamics, planars and electrostats. I haven't had the chance to hear any of the Raal...- mobbaddict

Stax SR-X1 (new entry model)
Sounds like a great move from Stax, a cheaper and more modern design with a more laid-back tuning is exactly what they needed to get back in the game. Curious to hear the improved bass rendition.- mobbaddict

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I tested them while commuting and I don't think they work very well in noisy environnements in general, it's almost a semi-open design if you look at the vent on the top. It has its benefits though as you are more aware of your environment. I feel like an open design would be perfect for...- mobbaddict

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)
Very intrigued by this Japanese brand, they have a Bluetooth planar closed-back (WA-Z1PNK) with double-sided magnets which is unusual for a portable format. You can hear a lot of bass and dynamics compared to the Edifier S3 during the live comparison at 13:30, which is exactly what is missing...- mobbaddict

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
I'd been curious lately to get my first wireless headset so I bought the Moondrop Space Travel, mainly because of their cheap price and overall neutrality, and I must say that not only do they sound very good for the price, but to my surprise I've been using them way more than my daily drivers...- mobbaddict

Best IEM tips?
The Epros are even better if you manage to get a good fit. They're famous for taming the highs. I like the Sennheiser too because they're as comfy as the Spiral dots and have a smoother tonality and timbre (probably because they have an additional foam filter inside).- mobbaddict

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
Got the Space Travel as a wireless headset for the office and I'm quite impressed for the price.
