    Sydney/Blue Mountain Meet July 11

I think the meet will allow me to listen to some electrostatic headphones.   Never had a decent chance to listen to them and I won't purchase a system without a listen!

My Beresford TC7520 DAC initial impressions. 56K, abandon hope all ye who enter.

I have received the Beresford TC520 DAC and using it on my CD hifi system. The CD player is $US1,500. The DAC is used as a pre-amplifier rather than the line out. Is there a difference. My general impression is tha the DAC provides greater clarity overall. The bass is more precise-...

My Beresford TC7520 DAC initial impressions. 56K, abandon hope all ye who enter.

I have put an order in for the TC7520 model. I understand it is value for money and certainly not the best DAC on the market. My CD player has co-axial out and my computer audio will be via toslink. The Beresford DAC provides both options and a simple switching mechanism. One day (like...

This "history" is putting me off from buying a 7520.

Krell Interface Doc (KID) for your ipod....

There was a review of the KID in stereophile. Good piece of equipment and favourable review and good Sound quality . The KID came out before the Wadia 170i and is aimed at the high end market (audiophile). The Wadia 170i is popular but you need to add in the cost of a DAC and then compare...

    McIntosh MS750 Music Server

There is a new updated version HDX4. Many computer audiophiles rediculeoff the shelf music servers because of the cost etc. Reference players at the audiophile level do cost more.

ALO Fidelity iMOD Auricap Docking Stations

The ALO Fidelity Ipod Dock is the best docking station and works very well with my hifi system! Now my GF can make use of my expensive amp and speakers!

    Arcam releases a music server!

Thanks for the news! My impression is that many people on this forum like tinkering with their audio equipment and prefer to customised their own music servers.

Music Server - Olive Opus No. 4

Music servers are definitely the present and future. Hence my initial interest in having a music server in parrallel to my cd player and I will keep on buying cds.. Getting a music server to audiophile quality is at audiophile costs for an "off the shelf" product like the Olive etc.

Music Server - Olive Opus No. 4

Thanks for everyone's comments. What surprises me is that the cost of a music server at home (not portable) including DAC especially if purchased off the shelf is at a price where you can purchase a middle level CD player. If I was to purchase the Olive Opus 4 at $US1800 for a terrabyte...

Music Server - Olive Opus No. 4

Thanks for the advice. Off the shelf music servers are more expensive than plain vanilla PCs. I am a bit old fashioned with my many many CDs. The pursuit of musical nirvana is costing. Olive Opus 4 music server + DAC... It's a great hobby though..at least my GF approves (the hobby...

Music Server - Olive Opus No. 4

Hello Audiophiles! I have 900 cds and I intend to move the cds to a music server. Basically I would like a music server to accommodate my current and future CD purchases. I will keep my cd player since I have a cd collection. With 900 cds and future purchases I would need a terrabyte...

    Arcam rDock

It's an amplifier and you can feed the sound to proper speakers. I read a review on the Australian Audio and Lifestyle Magazine about 3 months ago. The best on the market if you want to have the Ipod as a source to floorstanding speakers etc for that great hifi experience.
