My next phone: a900? hfi-650?
Currently I use either my e3c's most of the time. They are good phones, better than anything I had used before, but don't have good bass response and their cord is too short to reach from back of my computer to me when sitting at desk. Im going to use for home/computer, and don't have a specific...- Prodigul

HD555 or 280's for gaming
Well my roomates a gamer too, so keeping him up wont be a concern. The 555 and 595 are of a different series than the 580 and 600, right? What are their sound charactaristics? The only similar cans I have listened to are sony v6's, bose qc2's, and some koss thing as well as my current e3c's...- Prodigul

HD555 or 280's for gaming
Okay, Ive had my e3c's for almost a year now and love them. They are perfect for travel, and being canalphones they are barely visible on my head. I like them for music, but for gaming they lack directional cues. Currently I game using altec 641's, which are pretty nice but being a 4.1 dont...- Prodigul

Computer SACD options
I think its point is that the redbook layer was made more agressive sounding/louder in order to accomidate for cd only playback, therefore making the sacd layer sound more transparant/audiophile. The layer is good having just listened through it, but I have yet to compare it to the standard...- Prodigul

Computer SACD options
Crap, are you serious? I heard that it was a good remaster of the redbook layer. I know it sounded crappy vs the sacd layer, but vs the normal release?? I gotta get the other one to compare, but since I probably wont get an sacd player anytime soon, maybe I will just return it and get the...- Prodigul

Computer SACD options
I have been looking into upgrading my computers playing capabilities. Im currently running an audigy 2 zs, which I realize is not the best source, but its essential for gaming. So I was looking to run a two sound card system, with a RME digi96-8 pad. Anyway, I was wondering what my options were...- Prodigul

Lossless vs. uncompressed Also SACD
I have read through the boards and gotten conflicting views on whether lossless(ape or flac) sounds any different from uncompressed(IE Wav.) audio files. I want to know for archive copies of my cds, and I really only want to do this once. I personally cannot notice difference between EAC +LAME...- Prodigul

My under construction E3c impressions thread
You really had trouble with the foamies? I had some trouble with the soft greys, partially comfort partially a lacking sound quality, but upon moving to foamies they were both imediatly fixed. My impression, not having heard anything but cheapo ones, the ipod ones, and the v6 is that these are...- Prodigul

What exactly is Dolby Headphone?
Is CMSS 3d, something that is part of the Audigy2zs software, any good for this purpose. It seems that you need to pay for the higher level versions of dvd software in order to get the dolby headphone and as I rarely watch movies with headphones it seems like a waste for just that. Also, if it...- Prodigul

Just received E3. Couple of questions
The foamies are the best tips IMO. They just sound a fair amount better and you always get a good seal. True there is some preperation time, but I think its worth it for better sound and isolation.- Prodigul

More impressed with E3c daily
With mine I use the medium flex, have tried the foamies, but I take them in and out alot and they arent ideal for this. My question is how can I be sure im getting a good seal? Will it be obvious or a subtle change in the sound. I known that the small flexes are easier to put in and sound about...- Prodigul

Isolation.. e3c, Sennheiser 280, Beyerdynamic DT831
Well I have e3c's and go on very noisy bus trips 3x a week. After putting them on I cant even hear the people in the seats in front or behind me, only the person directly next to me when he is looking in my direction. They are really excellent isolation. Only thing that bleeds through is a small...- Prodigul

Headphones for Radiohead
I've had very good luck with e3c's. Last night I listened through OK Computer, it was excellent. I could make out the backround andriod talking in paranoid andriod and the whole presentation was amazing. This is the only time I have really LISTENED since the first time Ive heard this album(this...- Prodigul

Hmm. You will get used to them. I found small flex ones work best, but the point is to not be too picky about them. You will get used to the feel after a while. If not, keep with the foamies, they work for all ear sizes.- Prodigul

Extension/suggestions for e3c
I just got an e3c and love it. My problem is that it sounds pretty bad out of my speaker's headphone jack, it hisses and generally sounds a bit off. Anyway, these problems are fixed when I go directly out of the soundcard. Since my chair is a bit more than the 62in of cord provided, I cannot...- Prodigul

e3c cord lenght
I just got my e3c's and I love them, but this isnt a review so I will get on with it. For my first listening I plugged them in my speakers headphone jack, sounded pretty good, but I noticed a bit of hiss coming through and some things sounded off. After plugging them directly to my soundcard, it...- Prodigul

Foobar 2k and Wma
Hello. I am new to Foobar2k, just switched from Windows Media Player. What I have noticed is that it wont play the files I ripped in media player (wma). Anyone know where I can find a plugin which will allow me to do this? Thanks in advance- Prodigul
