AURALiC owners unite!
Cool... thanks! Is this the best option you'd recommend? Say my price range was up to $4-600 for a phono stage. I'm now considering another amp as well, the Bakoon HPA-21 current-drive headamp. It seems great... but i have zero idea whether it beats the other two amps I'm considering! How do...- jpscool4u

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Thanks for the responses. I seem to have one more option on the table now, and this one I can't find any reviews comparing it to other amps. It's the Bakoon HPA-21 - someone is selling it locally for $1,500 (and hopefully might be a bit negotiable on price) It's a current-based amplifier. It's...- jpscool4u

AURALiC owners unite!
Has anyone here heard both the Taurus mkII as well as the Audio-GD Master 9 and can comment comparing the two? I have the opportunity to buy one or the other, both around $1,000. It would be used to power LCD-3F's. I have seen fantastic reviews for each amp, they are both class A with...- jpscool4u

Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3
Reviving this thread a year later.... I am looking to buy an amp for my new LCD-3F, and right now am sitting with a couple of options, both for the same price (about $1,000 used) Auralic Taurus mkII Audio-GD Master 9 I have found a review or two online that compare these two in passing, and...- jpscool4u

Same price, SA6 or triple.fi 10?
(Posting on behalf of a friend) My super.fi 3's broke the other day and I'm looking for a new pair of IEMs. I liked the sf3's, although I found the bass a bit weak, and I'm looking to upgrade from that (and upgrade across the board, obviously). My main choices are: Sleek SA6's at $150, UE...- jpscool4u

What is the best op-amp for the Little Dot MKI?
I am ordering myself a Little Dot MKI amp for Sennheiser HD 650's and Denon AH-D2000's. I heard on these forums that the stock opamp in the amp isn't the best; it's a bit too bright. What are the best replacement opamps? I want well-balanced sound, with strong punchy bass. I heard good...- jpscool4u

Is this a genuine Little Dot MKI? Or counterfeit?
I found this little dot MKI on ebay, and it looks good to me....and I asked the seller for a pic of the interconnect, he sent me pics of everything, it looked good, and it says it has a 1 year warranty (doesn't specify specifically that it's actually WITH little-tube) I don't know whether...- jpscool4u

Little-Dot MKI vs. iBasso D2 Boa
I am interested in making my first full-size headphones/portable amp purchase I can afford to buy: the Denon AH-D2000, the Sennheiser HD 650's, and 1 (and only one) portable amp or DAC/amp. My two sources will be my 160GB iPod Classic (with an LOD), and my laptop with a 24/96 external...- jpscool4u

OK, so a couple questions. Regarding the DAC/amp, why do i need a DAC if the iPod has a DAC built-in (and apparently has hi-fi quality)? Even if i use a LOD (Pocketdock Line Out), won't it have already be converted to analog? Anyway....you can only use the DAC in the iBasso D2 using USB from...- jpscool4u

I am in the market for full-size headphones. They will be mainly used at home, but also sometimes portable, with an iPod Classic, and I will buy a portable amp to go with it. I have limited my choices down to the following, but i need help figuring out which one would be best for me. I have...- jpscool4u

Please help me with my first full-size headphones purchase!
I currently own Shure SE530's, and I want to make to switch to full-size over-the-ear headphones. I'm leaning towards the Sennheiser HD 650's, but I've heard great things about the HD 600's, the AKG K701's, Grado's etc. I will be listening to mainly rock music, but many other genres as well...- jpscool4u
