When I was looking for high quality headphones I borrowed my friend's in ear triports since every one I know had them and he said they sounded amazing. My $20 JVCs sounded better! The bass was so muddy you could barely hear vocals!

All headphones benefit from proper amplification? Even my HD 280s (64 ohms), which are great starter headphones but nowhere nearthe quality of some good open cans like the HD 600s or K701s?
