Lynx Hilo - new offering from Pro Audio company.
Quote: Happy Camper, no I haven't compared them. The PWD2 is at home and the Hilo is at work. But I can take the Hilo home and compare. It's a great idea as I have been a fan of both versions of the PWD and the Hilo (at least from its headphone output) appears to be a different beast...- crucial

Lynx Hilo - new offering from Pro Audio company.
Quote: I'll be interested in your thoughts with the LCD2/Hilo combo. I recently purchased the Hilo (as like you I couldn't resist - someone was selling it who was located only 5 minutes from work and I took that as a sign from the audio gods ). Using the headphone output from the Hilo, I...- crucial

Audeze LCD-2 Orthos
Quote: I have a slightly different opinion on the LCD-2 vs L3000 with the following caveats: limited listening as I received both of them recently (although I've owned the L3000 in the past), both phones have not been broken in (yes, the L3000 is apparently NOS) and one phone is at...- crucial

Audeze LCD-2 Orthos
Any more opinions on cables for the LCD-2? There have been mainly favorable reports concerning the Alo cable and they now have two cables for the LCD-2. Soloz Audio also has two different cables and I'm unsure about other companies such as APuresound, Moon-Audio etc.- crucial

Audeze LCD-2 Orthos
OK.Just posting my opinion since I received my LCD-2 phones on the weekend and I am finally having some time to listen to them. BTW, I ordered them sometime in June. Never received a response, so I ordered them again in July (I think) using a different e-mail. Again, no response. But eventually...- crucial

Best High End can for rock....
Quote: Sure, you are more than welcome. Actually there has been some discussion about a Houston mini-meet. I can send you a PM if you are interested, although I don't know how long the trip is from GA to TX. I also agree that the AT phones, particularly the L3000 lack a consensus...- crucial

Best High End can for rock....
Quote: Go figure...I am constantly amazed at how we hear everything differently. Obviously different equipment has an effect, but even through the same equipment individuals will perceive sound differently. I wonder how much of that is due to the actual 'hearing' in the ear or higher order...- crucial

Best High End can for rock....
I agree that stats can sound wonderful. But I would disagree that bass-heavy dynamic phones may sound like crap on more balanced recordings. (I would also disagree with labeling them as bass heavy but that's another topic). The PS1000 scales very well with the quality of the recording. A poor...- crucial

WEE - new product from Woo Audio
I don't have an opinion in the Woo Audio - spritzer debate but inferring Woo Audio business practices are related to SinglePower does not appear to be appropriate. Houston Head-Fi Meet #2 on October 17
Please count me in as well. I have recently moved from Denver and would love to meet some local Head-Fiers. We have a house in West U so it could be a possible place for a mini-meet. On the other hand, I have 5 year old triplets so you would have to watch your step. Of course, I will have to...- crucial

Best High End can for rock....
My vote would be for the PS1000 and L3000. Honorable mention goes to the DX1000 and Ed9. Disclaimer - I have not heard many of the more recently released phones - Ed8, T1 and LCD2 (but apparently I should be receiving the LCD2 soon). Also, for my tastes dynamic phones have more impact than stats...- crucial

New headphones as good or better than the HD800 and T1 to hit the market soon?
Quote: Not to be argumentative, but I strongly prefer the PS1000 to the HD800 (and the PS1, Ed9 and DX1000).Indeed, if anyone wants to purchase the HD800 in superb condition, please contact me. There is a more fleshed out fuller sound (for lack of a better description) from the PS1000. I...- crucial

Colorado High-Fi 2009 Summer Meet 7-25-09 (UPDATED DATE/LOCATION!)
Damn this hobby and damn this site. I have yet another pair of headphones to bring as I just purchased the DX1000 from Anouk and received them yesterday. (Wait to my wife finds out!)
