Can anyone point me to where you can buy the original Shozi Form 1.1 cables, or something super close to them? I really like the cloth cover for wearing them out and about and I've mangled my current pair. Thanks, -john

UE has a new version of the mic cable with the nice slim controls/mic instead of the big clunky ones. The only rub is they only offer it for the new style connectors...

You can trim the shroud on the 10vi cable to fit, but don't bother. It does't fit tight enough to overcome the stiff cable and it is likely you'll have connection issues. The 500vi cable is not removable and just included as a comparison. The JH mic cable is the only viable choice at this time...

I've updated the first post to indicate my intent not to update the table any longer.  I think most DACs do work with the iPad at this point, at least if you allow the provision of external power in the definition of "work" (which I do).   Carry on!   -john

  Well, I finally sat down to replace the ends on my UE "vi" cable to use with my Unique Melody remolded Shure 530s with custom sockets, and... well, hang on a second.   The "vi" cables have a slightly different cable than the standard "custom" cable.  They have a little plastic "shroud"...

You try plugging into a USB hub?    Not trying to annoy you or anything, but I had two people confirm it worked for them - HeadphoneAddict and RHW.  You might try PMing them and see if they can clear up what they might have done differently.   -john

Sorry for the delay, been busy and haven't visited the board in a bit.  I've added the updates.   Another tidbit.  I have a friend who is registered as an iPhone developer.  He tried iOS 4.2 beta on an old 3GS, and confirmed it still does NOT work with USB sound.   -john

If you have detachable cables, no reason to send them.  Just tell them which type of socket.   -john

It seems like the new Nano and the Fiio E5 are about the same size.  Be real interesting to see if they match exactly.   -john
