    A Chinese man's initial impressions of the Head-Direct RE2

Jonathan, try getting the 551s here to save a few dollars: Denon AHC-551 Headphones for sale - TradeMe.co.nz - New Zealand They're very good - Eastern Hifi's trademe store. I've bought from them twice, no hassles and you can pick up if you're in Auckland. Unless you've already bought...

How to rip audio from DVDs?

Hi Anyone know of a decent free/cheap programme to rip audio from music dvds? At the moment i just rip the dvd itself using handbrake or dvd decrypter + videora but using these options i can get a max audio bit rate of 160kbps. I'm looking for one that can provide higher quality. I...

Alessandro MS1000 and MS Ultimate - DIY & modding [56K warning]

Not that i don't trust you Nickchen () but has anyone else tried this mod with similar success? I'm really keen to try this but with the cost of getting the pads to NZ I just want to check it's worth it!

How do you quantify MS-1 sound from the reference of an HD280Pro?

I think the MS1000 mod looks awesome. And easy too! That's it decided for me i think!

cheap iem (~$50) that has good isolation

I'm very happy with my sennheiser cx300 for portable use. They isolate well and the sound is pretty good, but a little bass focused. They're also relatively comfortable. I've tried the denon c-551s but not extensively. They sound great to me and I was perfectly happy with their isolation. I find...

sr60 and sr80 differences and similarities.

There's a big thread comparing the sr80 and the ms1 - http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/dif...s-ms1s-245510/ General consensus seems to be that the sr60s/sr80s are brighter and better for rock, but that the MS1s a bit more neutral and therefore suit a wider range of music. I'd say if your...

sr60 and sr80 differences and similarities.

I'm in the same position - live in NZ so it's hard to find Grados for a reasonable price locally. Someone sent me this link: The Jazz Loft - Grado Labs They seem to offer free international shipping on Grados.

That's the kind of thing i was hoping for, thanks Out of interest, can someone tell me how long the MS1 cord is? I'm presuming it's the same length as that of the grado sr60s. It doesn't really matter either way, just wondering

Hi I can get these for about the same price because the d1000s are on sale here and the alessandros have free worldwide shipping. Other headphones aren't really an option. Any thoughts on which way to go would be appreciated. I listen to rock mainly but anything goes. Thanks
