    Amping for AKG Q701

I am using them with the STX. I figured since I game a lot and plan on getting some speakers soon the STX was the better option. The headphone still sound great with the STX, better than the HD595 I was using.

    Headphones to replace HD595

I went with the Q701 and a Xonar STX, mainly because I game quite a bit and I plan to get some speakers soon. The sound is very clean compared to HD595.

    Amping for AKG Q701

Is anyone using these headphones with a Xonar STX? Or is an external dac+amp the better option for these?

    Headphones to replace HD595

Isn't the e18 more for android phones?       Has anyone used the Audioengine D1? Is it any good as a amp/dac for headphones? I might get some A5+ in a few months so I was wondering if that may be an easier route (but that's a whole different topic).

    Headphones to replace HD595

What do you think about going with the Magni/Modi combo with those headphones? Or do you feel an STX is a better option over an external dac? I don't really use all those software features of the xonar for gaming like the EAX type stuff.

The Schiit Magni/Modi combo does look pretty good.

    Headphones to replace HD595

I am looking for some new headphones and dac/amp. I am leaning towards AKG Q701 with a Fiio e17(or e10) or the JDS O2 (or is a soundcard like an Xonar STX a better idea). Id like to stay around $500-550 for a budget, so id like some suggestions. The music I listen to is Trance and Classic Rock...

    Amping for AKG Q701

Is the Audioengine D1 any good for these? The amount of dac/amp I see people post and recommend is quite overwhelming, almost to a point where I want to give up. I am leaning towards the e17 or maybe the o2 amp/odac, I really don't know...

    Audioengine A5+ for Music/Gaming?

Ah, the hd595 have been working well. But, I can't game all day with headphones on. I only really like to use them in the evening.

    Audioengine A5+ for Music/Gaming?

Yea, I have no interest in 5.1 speakers. I suppose I could just use the A5+ just for music... but why, do they not do game sounds well?

    Audioengine A5+ for Music/Gaming?

I've heard logitech speakers are a complete joke compared to some of these real speakers like Audioengine or KRK Rokit, which is why I want to upgrade. I have an Xonar DGX currently, and for headphones Sennheiser HD595.

    Audioengine A5+ for Music/Gaming?

I am looking for a good setup for listening to music and gaming at my PC. I currently use Logitech z5400(or something). I was looking to get the Audioengine A5+ with a Xonar STX. Are the A5+ as great as I have read, or is there something better in my price range? I'd like to keep my budget to...

    Sennheiser or Audio-Technica

Sennheiser HD 595 or 555, or the Audio-Technica ATH-A700. I am having trouble picking between them. I don't know much about headphones but I am a gamer and I listen to music all the time like metal/trance and classics like pink floyd/zeppelin. Which one do you think would be best? I don't have...
