with my AV-710 i go through a sansui model 8080 to a pair of advent 3002 bookshelf speakers and have been extremely pleased. i spent $110 on the sansui and $60 on the advents. awsome sound for so little spent.

when looking at amp's you might want look into vintage audio. older sansui, marantz, and pioneer receivers have great sound, plenty of power and also usually have AUX inputs which you could use with a cdp or a computer source. eBay has a section in consumer electronics just for vintage audio...
