I've heard some really poor cds made from low bitrate mp3s. I made backups of all my audio cds to use in the car. If they get scratched I just toss em and make another. I have never heard a poor sounding copy of a cd. I can't tell if I have the original or copy by listening to it.

Use Clone cd along with Clony XXL. Clony finds the copy protection and fixes the settings in clone cd properly for the type of protection the cd has. From there you can copy the cd. Rip the copy. Extra step, but it works.
