Very interested in the Edition 8, much more than in the HD800 personally. I trust they both will be very nice headphones though.

LOVED to infinity and I have heard a lot of headphones. The Edition 9, to me, sounds by far the most realistic headphone I have ever heard. And... I mostly listen to Jazz, Classical and Fusion (aswell as stuff like Radiohead).

Imho the PRO 900 and Edition 9 are nothing alike. They're both great phones, but they sound completely different, and they both have a different purpose aswell. I think a person can stop his search for headphones when he/she owns both a PRO 750 and Edition 9. Imho.

A modified, recabled PRO 750 and Edition 9 plus a custom made symmetric neutral amp without compromise.

On Tal Wilkenfeld's Transformation, song; The River Of Life my Edition 9's are the only headphones of the ones I own that very clearly let's you hear nasty distortion on the drums. No other headphone in my collection shows the distortion.

My first impressions on the PRO 900... First of all, these are the most comfortable Ultrasones yet, lovely! I am pleasantly surprised by the sound, which imho doesn't sound like the Edition 9 at all, but neither like the PRO 750. Like someone else said, I believe, if anything they sound...

I have one on the way currently to test. I'm very curious how it fits in between the PRO 750 and the Edition 9.

One more quick question since I barely have any knowledge of electrostatics. How is the sound projected? Do they (like Ultrasones) use the ear shell before they push the music inside the ear (for a more accurate stereo image)? Or do they just function like normal dynamic headphones, i.e. the HD 650?

My favorite headphone is the Edition 9. However in my modest opinion the PRO 750 is the best headphone in production.
