I'm a little perplexed by the replies on this thread [buy buy buy] as this is a guy sold on K1000s. I've heard the Lambda normal bias and the 404s, neither of which IMO match up with the sonic properties of the K1000s at all. Are the pros *that* sonically different from their cousins?

So no one asks what your impressions were during breakin and why you were dissatisfied? At at this point--after 48 hours--how would you characterize the improvements in sonics?

So far I'm decidedly underwhelmed with the low-bias Lambdas. No bite, diminished detail and an overall darker presentation as compared to the K1000s. Both cans used with tubed Cary amp, BTW. Question: from all I've read, it sounds like the 404s offer a "brighter" presentaion and might provide...
