The TWS + Neckband + BT Cable Adapter Thread
I have been using the BGVP M2 and M3 for a long time, they work pretty well. I even tried them with my 64Audio U12ts when I had those and they were pretty good. Currently using the M3 with Truthear Hexas and the M2 with Simgot EM6Ls. The M3s don't seem to be multipoint, but the M2s are, so that...- akatsuki

Boom mic like v-moda Boom Pro but with double-ends
I want to use my nice headphones for work calls sometimes. Would love something like the V-moda boom pro, but that had a split cord for my headphones which have dual 3.5mm jacks instead of one-sided. The Antlion runs a cord the whole way, which kind of sucks. Any recs?- akatsuki

Tofty's DIY Headphones - 3D Printed

Tofty's DIY Headphones - 3D Printed
So my suspended design you basically put the driver holder into the larger earpad plate ring and attach a bunch of rubber bands around the perimeter. Then the clamps go into the gaps to close the rings off and provide structural support. I just ordered some drivers from Digikey so when I get...- akatsuki

Tofty's DIY Headphones - 3D Printed
Anyway, here is the draft version of my suspended driver design. Definitely not refined to any level but just as a test case. I would also need to add yoke mounts. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/kfLf5F9b2Bg- akatsuki

Tofty's DIY Headphones - 3D Printed
For me I don’t have any measurements at all. I basically took another design and mostly maintained the driver distance and left it alone. I spent some time thinking about how to design a driver test rig. You would be able to slide the driver forward and back as well as adjust how open the...- akatsuki

Tofty's DIY Headphones - 3D Printed
wWouldn’t the issue with the suspended driver be an issue with shockmount microphones? Since that is sort of the model I am copying. And it would be suspended by rubber bands pretty tightly. Shouldn’t be too much motion. I suppose bass might cause some slight back and forth movement.- akatsuki

Tofty's DIY Headphones - 3D Printed
Hey. I was looking through the maxx HD800 mods thread and wondering if any of those things are applicable here. Like let’s say I isolate the driver by wrapping the edges in dynamat extreme. And either remove the drivers clamp ring relying on friction fit against the dynamat or maybe make the...- akatsuki

akatsuki's Aurora Borealis clone
@Tofty the other design I mentioned above seems to be better. I am redesigning it some and I did include a larger "tunnel" for a wire to run through the top part of the headband just to hold it into place, but not through the adjuster arms or claws. I am also stealing an idea I saw on another...- akatsuki

akatsuki's Aurora Borealis clone
OK, the other band (for the Koss) seem to work reasonably well. I am going to redesign them after some thought and try and combine a little bit more flex and structure to them. The adjustors go into the band, but they rattle a little bit. I also need to think about the wire going across and how...- akatsuki

akatsuki's Aurora Borealis clone
@Tofty I would say that the Armadillo headband does not work at all - like it makes me question whether anyone actually printed and put these things on - they suck. It is super clever from a print perspective, but why spend all the design time for such a terrible outcome? (1) The clamping...- akatsuki

akatsuki's Aurora Borealis clone
Here is the near final 2-piece version: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/8fLQdb0w79o It is designed to be as easy to assemble as possible and uses Switchcraft 35PRM3 jacks which are a little bit smaller. The whole thing is open from the clamp side, so you can easily solder and insert the...- akatsuki

akatsuki's Aurora Borealis clone
Original version by /u/mwildebeast I saw this project when reading reviews for a new headphone and thought it sounded fun. But I wanted to make them a bit cleaner looking - and I ordered slightly different 3.5mm jacks. I didn’t like the small protruding box below the earcups, and I wanted to...- akatsuki
