FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

Well. I took the plunge and here I am with the E07K.   Plugged into the iMac via USB the sound quality is amazing. But on the iPod Classic 7G via L3 the bass on some songs is a bit farty and muffly - like it's clipping. The same songs are near perfect via the iMac. It sounds then that the DAC...

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread

First of apologies if this is (and I'll bet it is) a repeat question. I've just spent the last umpteen hours reading and rereading reviews, articles and posts on this subject and I can't think straight anymore. I currently have the e6. It's barely 6 weeks old but the way it dangles is...

Bowers & Wilkins Society of Sound

The Portico Quartet album is great. It's a shame that's pretty much it for electronic music on that site though. I joined too late (well bought my P7s too late) to catch the Guy Clled Gerald release. The issue I have with this site is the lack of preview samples. I want ot listen to a short...

Quick Review: Comply T400 Foam Tips

Tip: Use the rubber core of the Comply inside a Shure black olive. Ditch the comply foam as they don't last at all.

Awesome Mod: Use Shure Black Olive Foamies on Ultimate Ears Super.fi and/or Triple.fi

One of the problems with this mod is that the shaft of the earphones are quite wide compared to the Shures. I've been using the method where the original core of the black olive is ripped out and the core from a UE grey foam is inserted in it's place. This works for a lot of people because the...

Good online audio store in the UK?

I got my UE (Logitch *gag*) SuperFi's from www.advancedmp3players.com and they have decent delivery terms. Not as cheap as the Jersey based outfits but fair and reliable. Richer Sounds will price match anyone and they have some good deals too.

Help me fit my Super-fi 5 Pros!

Who is the UK supplier for Comply? They don't last long. Once you get a tiny tear the rip gets bigger every time you insert until they crumble. I'm getting about 3 weeks on each tip.

    Shure foam expanding too fast

Olives are meant to be rolled. The manual says so .That's a manual from the SE210 which doesn't come with the old style foams.

Suddenly Comply T-400s are rated for the UE Triple-Fi's. (Confirmation: They have been tested!).

I keep them in my coat pocket which is basically the same as keeping them in a softcase. I'm sure they are splitting in my ear not in my pocket because the overhang at the front of the tip is getting pushed back during insertion. I'll give the steam a try but since these things are so hard to...

Suddenly Comply T-400s are rated for the UE Triple-Fi's. (Confirmation: They have been tested!).

I want to back up eat2na's experience. Using these of SP.fi 5 Pro and they are splitting at the front after a week. They also get too soft and yucky. Not worth the money considering the shipping.

    Comply T400 shipping cost

It comes in a padded envelope and the product arrived a bit squashed. It also took two weeks. I've ordered from other suppliers in the US using the same postage scheme (e.g. bestskinsever.com) and had the stuff arrive in under 4 days. Where Comply charge $15 BSE was free shipping. $15 is too...

Excellent customer service once again from UE!!!

I've had very mediocre server form UE. Took 2 weeks to reply to email after chasing it up twice. And I didn't get my questions answered either.

    UE Super.fi 5pro's and the Comply T-400's

Direct from Comply's site but I'm in London so I wouldn't expect 4 days. And to be fair it does say 10 to 14 days. It's the price I can't agree with. I've ordered stuff by snail mail from the States before and it's never been $15 and never taken this long.

    UE Super.fi 5pro's and the Comply T-400's

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. They were shipped Monday 10th. Pretty shabby for 'First class' mail costing an extra $15...

Upgrading from CX300 - comfort and noise cancelling

Micro Anvika sell UE 5 pro but not the EB. However their price is full retail. Save about £70 by buying on-line. AMP3.com (Advanced MP3 in Glasgow) do a reasonable price with next day delivery. Otherwise there's an even cheaper place that ships from Jersey but I forget the name.

    UE Super.fi 5 Pro

Recent iPod Classic firmwares used to hiss when in standby. Fixed in current versions. Dunno if touch models had the same thing but worth checking your firmware is up-to-date via iTunes.

Do the Shure Black Foam Sleeves fit on UE Super.fi 5 Pro?

Not directly. There are several threads already about this subject.

UE Super fi 5 pros with Comply Tips

$15 shipping is for US postal service mail. I can't believe that it covers the cost of shipping. Too high but there is no other supplier. If they turn out to be rubbish I'll not hold back on the criticism and I'll expect the contents to be mint! Also if I don't like them I'll be happy to sell...

    Which Canalphone / IEM has a J-Cord?

In before the audiophile horror at one-eared listening on expensive IEMs. But I wish my SF5P was J-cord too. makes it easier to hang round the neck in between listening and talking to people. Mine (and also Shure) have a toggle and you can kind of adjust into a J shape but it's not quite good...

Upgrading from CX300 - comfort and noise cancelling

They go further into the ears and the Super.fis are bulky. I do like them but I can't say they are as comfortable as the cx300. This is because the size of the nozzle is quite wide. Foam eartips and/or experimentation can solves part of the problem and the sound quality improvement may be worth...

Advice on In Ear/Canalphones (IEM?) for 5.5G iPod video, £60/$120.

I made the same change (cx300 to SF5P). If you can swallow the price then you will be happy. You will have to spend upwards of £100 for them and then you will probably want to get comply foam eartips which will set you back another £15 more or less. Do NOT get the SE210. You will hate it. As...

ultimate ears customer service is ace!

When I look down the nozzle I notice that the orangey colour driver in one ear isn't pointing in the right direction (i.e. at me). Compared to the other side it is bent. Is this something serious enough to return them or ask for replacement? If it doesn't make a lot of difference and is...

Any recommended headphone stores in London???

The DJ shop in the alley is Westend DJ. It's a great shop but only do Shure SE in-ear phones and everything else over the ear. If that's fine for you then I can recommend them. I tried the music shops on Charing Cross Road but again found very little earphone stock. Does anyone know if ay...

Any recommended headphone stores in London???

Tottenham Court Road has really gone downhill these days. There are only a couple of shops that won't rip you off and will still be willing to do a deal. One shop I went into said they didn't stock Ultimate Ears because they weren't better than Sony or Senheiser and were just made to be...

Are the Shure SE110 any good?

The SE210 I had was a complete failure in the bass department. Although your CX300 would have been more muddy and overpowering my experience was that the CX300 was far more satisfying. I returned my Shure for UE Super.fi 5 Pro and I got my bass back! Online price for it was only slightly...
