    The "non-Grado" Driver Grado Thread

I was listening to them through a cmoy with bass boost, now I'm listening to them unamped and comparing them to the SennGrados. I prefer the Sennheiser drivers over the Audio Technica drivers. All I hear is midrange with little bass and treble. I have gotten used to them using the cmoy, but now...

    The "non-Grado" Driver Grado Thread

They sound great. I like them more than the JVC drivers. Weakness... I would say the treble is a bit low, they don't have that Grado sparkle. I need to turn the volume up compared to my SennGrados. I recommend trying them out. I wish I could give a detailed review on their sound signature, but...

@michauczok  Thank you for recommending the 1-1/2 inch pipe. A bit of sanding and it's in.   Used a little strip of electrical tape wrapped around the driver to hold it in place. I can always pop out the driver if needed.

@DaemonSire   Practice on some scrap electronics. When heating up solder pay attention to when it turns shiny instead of it being dull. The thing about soldering is to do it quick and not let the iron sit too long. Add a good amount of solder to the wire before soldering to the solder pad. I...

    The "non-Grado" Driver Grado Thread

I just got new drivers in today. They are Audio Technica ATH-T200.         I just need some weatherstripping or something to hold them in place. What else can I use to hold them in a wooden cup?

I haven't tried them, but they look interesting.  The only reservations I have about them is that they push the drivers away from your head and I like my Grados close to my ear. Bookmarking them now...

I'm looking for a new set of drivers...   Amazon.com: Audio-Technica ATH-M20x Professional Headphones: Musical Instruments   Amazon.com: Audio Technica AUD ATHWS55BK Solid Bass Audio Headphones: Electronics   Both state 40mm drivers. What are the odds they share the same drivers? Any...

I did the same thing to my SR225e headphones. The bass got stronger, maybe a little bloated. So I figured why not on the JVC drivers. They were only $30.

I removed the filter paper covering the holes around the driver and the center. They sound much better!  Improved bass, mids, vocals and no more piercing treble. I'm enjoying the sound they produce.

I used the cups from my SennGrado because I was impatient and wanted to hear the JVC's. I Just got my Vibro cups today in the mail to rebuild the SennGrados. I also just ordered the new SennGrado ring adapters from Vibro Labs so I'm waiting for those to arrive. I wish I had the tools to...

Thank you! Yeah, I made some SennGrados. I should have posted those first. (Used the cups from my SennGrados to test out the JVC's) The SennGrados are better than the JVC drivers IMO.

I have been lurking around this site for a long time and finally got the courage to post something.  So, I bought some JVC HA-S500 Headphones off of amazon and put the drivers into some wood cups from Yew Woodworks on Etsy. They Work, but I'm not happy with the sound they produce. The treble...

    Zune Alternative?

I know people around here rant about the Cowon D2. It comes in 4,8,16GB Models and a SD Slot. The screen is 2.5" 320x240. I have a Zune 80 and love it so far. Everything on the zune is 192k wma/mp3. I'm thinkin of a Second DAP for random lossless music.
