Sennheiser HD595 Impressions Thread
I'm considering upgrading from my HD-555s to the 595s. I've had the 555s for probably 6 months and am very happy with them, but I'd like to take the next step towards a better listening experience. Has anyone else gone right from the 555 to the 595 and was there really that much of a difference...- Pat1000

Need help deciding which headphones to get!
I'm new to all of this and have had my HD-555s for a little over a week. They sound amazing for the price I paid (around $100 from amazon.) I'd recommend them.- Pat1000

Frank Sinatra listener--Do I want HD-555 or Grado SR80?
Another novice question. In terms of breaking in the HD-555s, should I let music play through them nonstop for a few days, even when I'm not wearing them?- Pat1000

Frank Sinatra listener--Do I want HD-555 or Grado SR80?
Thanks again all, I ordered the HD-555s last night. Should I consider getting an amp in the next few months? Any recommendations for a specific brand/model that goes well with the 555s? Is an amp really even necessary with them? Thanks again, sorry for being such a novice to all of this!- Pat1000

Frank Sinatra listener--Do I want HD-555 or Grado SR80?
I think I'm going to go the Sennheiser route. After seeing MarchingMule's suggestion for Sennheiser (and seeing he even owns the Grado SR-80's), that did it for me. Thanks for all of the help.- Pat1000

Frank Sinatra listener--Do I want HD-555 or Grado SR80?
Thanks for the replies. I'm torn between the two. The Sennheisers appear to be more comfortable, and IMO they look a whole lot better, but I'm not sure I like the "laid back" description of their sound. I take that to mean slightly less clear, crisp vocals, is that correct? I want to feel...- Pat1000

Frank Sinatra listener--Do I want HD-555 or Grado SR80?
Hi all, I'm new into the world of audiophiles, but I'm looking for the best of these two entry-level cans. I primarily listen to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Dean Martin, etc. and I'm wondering which of these two options will best reproduce this music? Hard rock and heavy metal...- Pat1000
