OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread
I was very interested in acquiring one of these, but was disappointed that it wouldn't work correctly with my iPhone 6 for some reason. The local shop has them in stock, and were gracious enough to let me try 3 different units (1 display, 1 open-box, and one Test unit). We used two...- Ryan1524

Need Help Fixing a cable
My seller contacted him and now all is well. In fact, I am getting an upgrade to SE530. BUT in lieu of a good pair of phones, I stupidly bid on an SE530 on eBay, which I won just a minute ago. Anybody interested? I won it for $326.- Ryan1524

Need Help Fixing a cable
Yes, that's the person I'm dealing with. Hm, he was very insistent that I have a receipt. He's given me the RA number, so all is well now. Maybe Shure is cracking down on warranties.- Ryan1524

$109 for a Shure E4c ??
I talked to my seller (marcopoloca from ebay), and he was kind enough to email Shure Canada for me as proof of purchase. This is a year later, very grateful he did that. Shure made me a RA number, and taking it under warranty.- Ryan1524

Need Help Fixing a cable
Hahah, wow. So there's an actual issue wiht the material. I do notice that the cable on the E4c isn't as flexy as the E3c. The part that broke is a high stress area, it's right where it curves sharply to hide behind my ear. It is one of the most oily place on my head - not that I'm an oily guy...- Ryan1524

$109 for a Shure E4c ??
I got the $109 quote from Shure USA's phone support - a somewhat unpleasant sounding woman. I emailed the entire story to Shure USA (with pictures and a record of my email conversation with the seller - pseudoreceipt). Let's see if they'll help me out. I've only had this pair for exactly a year...- Ryan1524

$109 for a Shure E4c ??
The cable on my Shure E4c split due to the cold. I always had a feeling this might happen, but thought they must have taken this into account and over-engineered the coating. Plus, my E3c never suffered in the cold. But I guess I was wrong. I lost/was never given/threw out my receipt. So...- Ryan1524

Need Help Fixing a cable
I talked to Shure Canada, and they won't help me without a proof of purchase (DOH! I never save my receipts), despite it being less than a year old. I am now sending the same story to Shure USA. Let's see if they treat me any better. If I'm getting a new pair should I get another E4c...- Ryan1524

Need Help Fixing a cable
Thanks for the suggestions. I considered heat shrink, but the only size that would fit over the phone would be too large. If I'm going to cut th cable to get the heat-shrink in, I might as well re-terminate it. But then where /how do I open the phone? It seems glue-sealed. I'm not keen on...- Ryan1524

Need Help Fixing a cable
Hi guys, The cable on my Shure E4c that tucks over my ear snapped in the cold. The copper's fine, and the sound is unchanged. I need your suggestions on how to approach this. Should I strip it, cut it, replace the cable? If so, how do I do it properly? Where do I cut - since that particular...- Ryan1524

my 2 cents on the E4c (upgraded from E3c)
Sorry to resurrect an old thread. But I've just experienced a very similar experience as the original threadstarter. Basically, I lost my E3c on a certain very drunken night. And after attempting to revert back to a cheap pair of Sony studio monitors (friend told me to bite it). i just can't...- Ryan1524

iPod Suffle - Hot or Not?
i say yes, cause (copied from another thread by me) i personally wouldn't mind buying this if i were on the market for a flash based MP3 player, mainly cause i'd probly just stuff my entire Top Rated list in there. i have about 200-ish song in it, and if it were on the Shuffle, if it's on...- Ryan1524

Ear Canal phones
i would reccommend the E3c. i used to have a 50$ MDR-G73, and buying something over 100$ for a pair of earphones seems like crazy to me, but after reading a lot of reviews here, i decided on the E3c instead of the E2c. i think that for that little bit more of money, you get the smaller design...- Ryan1524

ER-6 Experience today
yea, be careful with the volume. with my old open phones, i listen at 75-80%, but with the E3c, it's usually at 45-50%. massive difference. and i can't stand anything over 80% now. too damn loud.- Ryan1524

Shure E3c's vs. Etymotic ER-6's vs Others, Help Please.
i've only used the E3c, so i can't give a direct audio comparison, besides there's plenty of threads for that already. but in terms of comfort, i've never had anything jammed in my ear like this before, always used earbuds or open phones, but i don't find it to be that intrusive. true it takes a...- Ryan1524

E3c bass
yea, i've heard lots of good things about todd, but my being in canada and also not having a credit card yet makes it a bit problematic to deal with todd. so i'll just have to make do with what i can find locally here in toronto. i guess if i don't like it, i can sell it to someone up here...- Ryan1524

Microsoft's iPod/iTunes killer?
i see this as not MS trying to compete, but simply using their money to try and kill the iTMS. evil. MS has never had any interest on a music service before until Apple started it. why do they suddenly care so much??- Ryan1524

E3c bass
thx for explanation toaster22, but i'm just not ready or even capable to spend $500 on the E5c yet. i'm about to finalize the purchase for a pair of E3c, so do you have a suggestion for something that is of more value (more worth it) ?? or should i just go with the E3c for now. i can always...- Ryan1524
