did my denon's suffer water damage?
I had a small cup of water on my desk and spilled it on my d2000's soaking the wires. The headphones are dry but the nylon wires are sorta soaked. From the outside they don't look waterproof. Will this ruin my headphones?- blackburn

how do you straighten those denon cords
Hey guys, I have the Denon D2000 and baby these things. But somehow they develop these annoying kinks and bends that are hard to make straight. Any suggestions? Another question: Internally, are headphones pretty sturdy and resilient? Are there parts in a headphone that are susceptible to...- blackburn

Amp suggestion for D2000?
I'm in the same boat as you sir. In addition to the ones you just mentioned I'm also looking at the Purity Audio's KICAS and Caliente and Headamp's Gilmore Light....I haven't been able to decide!- blackburn

SS or tubes for Sennheiser 580?
Do tubes get annoyingly hot? Or is it something that isn't really noticeable to you guys..? I like the low-profile of SS amps. I was thinking of the MKV or the KICAS Caliente for my 580s and d2000s- blackburn

record/cd shops in orange county, ca?
With all the downloading these days, record and cd stores are closing left and right. I've just recently got into classical/jazz music with my first setup and am looking for some specialty shops where I could browse around and talk to knowledgeable salespeople. The only thing close to that that... -
I've narrowed it down to these budget cd players...UPDATE CD3001 officially on Marantz site
Hey guys Sadly the CD5001 doesn't have SACD, i was mislead by the description saying "Super Audio CD Grade" DAc. The only reason why I wanted the Oppo was because its practicality as a dvd player, but I'll probably go for the Marantz because I don't have an amp (yet) so that's the only system...- blackburn

I've narrowed it down to these budget cd players...UPDATE CD3001 officially on Marantz site
Well since I don't have an amp and won't be able to buy one for a couple months, my only choice would be the Marantz right? Would I be missing out on the greatness of sacd's??? I kinda like how the Oppo can double as a decent dvd player, but yea, I'm pretty hesitant by the fact that it isn't...- blackburn

I've narrowed it down to these budget cd players...UPDATE CD3001 officially on Marantz site
Hey guys, I've decided to forgo a dac/amp for my computer and have instead get a better source now and an amp in the coming months. I like the idea that I don't have to turn on my COMPUTER all the time to listen music... I've narrowed it down to these three cd players: the Marantz CD5001...- blackburn

narrowing dac/amp choices for my d2000 and hd580
Hmm...what about SS amps? I was thinking of something more discrete and convienent. Exposed blubs kinda scare me. IF you were to decide between the the dac/amps combos what would you guys reccomend?- blackburn

narrowing dac/amp choices for my d2000 and hd580
I've been using my d2000 and hd580's for a while connected directly to my SB Audigy 2 ZS and after going to the recent Headroom meet in Socal and sampling some rigs, frankly, I can't listen to my setup anymore! I was completely blown away by the difference a better DAC/Amp makes. I'm unsure...- blackburn

A n00b Review: Swan M10
Oh don't get me wrong, if the sub was on my desk life would be damn good...I'm not doubting that the swans are one of the best 2.1 solutions for your computer but in my situation it's just not really practical having the sub on my desk...I really miss the sound...so crisp and distinct... A n00b Review: Swan M10
OK...after lots of hours of burn-in time this set has improved drastically. The bass from the sub has tightened very noticeably. When the bass is turned up 3/4 and the volume is moderately high this system shines with any music you throw at it, especially acoustic, jazz and classical...- blackburn

impulsively bought the denon d2000's....should I return them?
It just sits there idling on my desk...I have the constant urge to just rip open the box and plug these headphones in. But I don't because if I open the box and try them it will lose that 'new' factor and I'm afraid it'll lose resale value. Also too, I was thinking of getting the D1000 as a...- blackburn
