    Review: Hot Audio DAC WOW

Yes I know I missed the meet, but things came up, and I really wanted to be there but such is life...   A long time ago I used to sell preamps and headphone amps with socketed op-amps and of course you could change them and roll them and I tried so many But then I also made discrete...

    Review: Hot Audio DAC WOW

lol, I did that actually...   I put a DAC DESTROYER in with a THUNDERBOLT 2010 and squeezed them together with a switch, but it was just too tight...   Almost worked till I screwed the cover on and the whole thing got squished.... lol....   But I do have new and improved...

    Review: Hot Audio DAC WOW

Well many of the schematics I've seen have balanced outputs, but since I have no equipment that uses balanced inputs, I really don't have any good way to test that out. And plus, I think the demand for balanced outputs isn't very high, but I could be wrong.   A few people ask about it...

    Review: Hot Audio DAC WOW

I have corrected the issue with IEMs so now all my products work with any type of headphones or amplifiers for that matter. No switch was necessary as it turns out... But of course with my most powerful headphone amplifier ( THUNDERBOLT MAX ) IEMs are still not recommended as that AMP is...

    Review: Hot Audio DAC WOW

Yes I agree. It is VERY difficult to use. Unless done properly, you will have big problems.   Do you honestly think I'd use a much more difficult solder like silver solder when I could get away with just using lead solder. It would be much easier for me to use lead solder, but I...

    Review: Hot Audio DAC WOW

I use the finest grade audio solder. I just happens that it is a SILVER alloy. Silver is the best know conductor of electricity and therefor makes sense that it would have superior electrical characteristics. But because it is Silver - it also looks like silver...     I'm not...

How does the uDac honestly stack up?

lol, yes basically the line-output is NOT meant to drive headphones.... In that respect the numbers don't mean too much... When they do become important is when they are used to drive line-inputs. Then the number DO become important depending on the gain of your amplifier. If you've...

How does the uDac honestly stack up?

I am going to get a few of the op-amps you mentioned and give them a shot.... Everything I have now feeds into my tube amplifiers as I have no SS amps that can compete against the sound of a vacuum, metal and glass...

Here's another "which amp for DT880" post :)

Yes AC version lets it be used with every source. DC just means there are no coupling capacitors and you MUST know if your source has DC offset. Most sources don't, but some recording industry DATs etc. do.... I might make them all AC just so people don't get confused.... Then when...

Go to your "device manager" and then open up the "sound, video and game controllers" icon. Then double click the USB SPEAKERS icon. You will find the information on the DAC there. The early HOTUSB1s used PCM2074 and had NO LED.... As I was a minimalist trying to maximize sound...
