    JH10x3 vs JH13

True enough. Where do you see the price drop? I checked their website and it's still $999

    JH10x3 vs JH13

Where do you see that?  Given the 3 driver design, I'm guessing it's more comparable to the 10x3.

    JH10x3 vs JH13

Does that mean it's a bit bassy?

    JH10x3 vs JH13

That's a rather interesting option.  I didn't realize 1964 was in Portland.  How much was the A6?  I do hesitate a bit about jumping in on a new tech (adel) when I expect it to be my only IEM for a long time (unproven long term reliability), but it would be fun to drop in and try them out.  How...

    JH10x3 vs JH13

Probably not...   I realized why you ask the question though.  I think the general wisdom is use a little less on one area and upgrade others since good sound comes from a combination of all your equipment.   That said, my limitation is more based on convenience/portability than anything...

    JH10x3 vs JH13

Hello,   I appreciate all the feedback.  I think goodvibes is pretty good at reading between the lines and yes I am trying to not spend jh13 money if I can help myself :)   Also, as mentioned I listed those two because from what I've read they're both somewhat neutral.  I like "fun" sound...

    JH10x3 vs JH13

Hello, I'm hoping to order my first custom IEM in the near future, and I'm a bit torn between these two models. If my source is primarily from a smartphone and 320kbps MP3, am I likely to find much of a difference between the two? I don't consider myself an audiophile but I do appreciate good...

Trying to switch from MP3 Audio to CD Audio

I see no point in arguing about whether the OP should use a DAP if he doesn't want to -_- I think generally if you want quality sound out of a PCDP you need to get one with an SPDIF out and run it through a DAC and amp because like it or not, PCDPs nowadays are not popular enough for the...

iPod "Video" 5G vs iPod "Classic" 6G (amped or unamped?)

As for the reasons for the differences in the sound quality, it all comes from the circuit design and the components used between 6G and 5G. The two do not have identical lineouts and they probably don't have identical headphone outs either. The 5G uses a better DAC in theory, but in stock form...

    Recommendations for Budget Stereo Amplifier?

Actually, I realized that I can put the vintage receiver on my desk just fine.. at first I just wanted to maximize space, but I never use my full desk anyhow.. However, now the problem is that the receiver is flaky.. the left channel doesn't work most of the time and the power supply kinda...

    Recommendations for Budget Stereo Amplifier?

Well, I already have a "vintage" receiver, the problem though is that it's not very compact.. I want something I can put on my desk. Well, that and the power supply is flaky..

    How to recable my headphones

well, you could always just cut the existing cable to a shorter length and re-terminate it with a stereo plug. You don't really need to recable just to get a shorter cable. "recable" means replacing the cable, so you'd have to desolder the existing cable from the drivers and solder on the new...

    Recommendations for Budget Stereo Amplifier?

Hey everyone. I haven't been on here for a while now.. I'm thinking about getting a stereo amplifier to use with my computer and a pair of cheap polk speakers I picked up a while back and hoping someone can make a suggestion for something good on a budget. I'm looking for something under...

replacing an ipod video battery - how difficult is it

It's very easy, as long as you don't snap the battery connector off from the main board. It's not hard, you just have to be very careful. If you've opened it once before without breaking anything, and by opened you mean you've actually had it completely apart (folded open like a book) then...

HD Broken 60G 5th gen - Repair or Not?

Actually, that board can still be salvaged if you didn't lift the pads. Even if you did it can still be salvaged if there's even a little bit of contact with the trace that can be soldered to. I hope you didn't trash your board, I might be interested in taking it off your hands.

Which one to buy.. which one sounds better?

No comment on the headphone out, the lineout through the dock is supposed to be cleaner in the stock 6th Gen compared to stock 5.5 Gen. A modified 5.5 Gen with black gate or better capacitors is superior to the 6th Gen because of the Wolfson DAC according to many people.

Can I Build iPod from Parts?

If the picture is the actual unit, it's 64MB. I'm pretty sure the chip right above the dock connector is the RAM. The units with 32MB are narrower and more of a rectangle.

HD Broken 60G 5th gen - Repair or Not?

Eh, personally, I think 60GB is bulkier enough that I'd prefer a 30GB myself. You can get brand new front and rear for iPods off eBay for around $20USD or less shipped from hong kong. Only thing is, some of these replacements don't look as good as the picture leads you to believe.
