    PPA and Denon D7000 issue.

HI all, I am currently having a problem with my PPA V1. I recently purchased a pair of Denon D7000 headphones which have a 25 ohm load. I initially built the amp with a gain of 10, but with the Denon's I had hardly any volume control. I then changed the gain to 5, which gave me more volume...

Weird PPA and Beyer DT770 problem

I FIXED IT!!!!! Happy day! On a whim, I tried putting in the AD610 op-amps I had and now the heaphones are working great. Still unsure WHY changing them worked, but it did. Maybe one of the Burr browns was going bad? Thank you all for your help.

Weird PPA and Beyer DT770 problem

To eliminate the jack, last night I desoldered the jack in my meta42 (which worked with the beyers) and replaced the one in the PPA with it. Still did not work. I will try the steps kklee suggested when I get home. Thanks Tim

Weird PPA and Beyer DT770 problem

I have a steps power supply. PPA uses the Burr Brown opa637 and 627 op amps. Has the "Ultra Linear Discrete Diamond Buffer" also. I have ruled out the neutrik jack. I assume it is something in the circuit that does not like the Beyers. It works fine with my AKG271 Studios and my Senn HD580's...

Weird PPA and Beyer DT770 problem

I thouhgt so too at first. If it were true, It should not work in the cdplayer or the amp I have at home. All 1/4" plugs by the way. The home amp also has the same neutrik jack. I also tried leaving the screw-on adapter in the socket, and switching between the akg an the beyers. Akg works...

Weird PPA and Beyer DT770 problem

Hi all, I am having a strange problem with my new Beyer DT770's. They do not seem to work correctly when I plug them into my PPA amp. The left channel plays music very quiet compared to the right. If i turn the volume up, the left side will crackle. I thought it could be the neutrik jack on...

    E-MU 1212M HELP!

Just a thought, Have you looked at your cpu temperatures lately. Maybe when you put the card in you managed to loosen the cpu fan wires accidentally. The beeping could be the computer telling you that the cpu is overheating. I only bring this up, because it has happened to me. Also, i am...

Need help deciding on a source.

As an update. I brought the player over to my buddies house for some listening. I was able to hook it up through both the single ended and balanced outputs. We played it through his Krell amp and a pair of B&W 802s. I must say, the balanced outputs made the player sound MUCH better than...

OK, here goes my first ever audio review. Take it for what u will. Well, I have had the CEC CD3300 player for a little over a week. I have about 40+ hours of listening to it. First off, I am no audiophile. I have listened to many different types of equipment. Mostly living vicariously...

Need help deciding on a source.

WEll, I purchased a cd player. It was not on the list. I had ruled it out based on cost considerations. Then it showed up on audio advisor as a demo. I purchased a CEC 3300. Audio advisor makes some bold claims on the player so i thought it would be worth the try. If I find out it is not what I...

Need help deciding on a source.

Yeah, as you can see, I have been a long time reader of the forums. I do not post alot because I feel I am a relative beginner when it comes to knowledge of HI-Fidelity audio. I must admit though, this site led me to building my first amp, the META42 I am using now. It was a great experience. I...

Need help deciding on a source.

I am having a very hard time deciding which cd player to purchase. I will be upgrading from my Panasonic SX300 PCDP so I will probably see improvement in anything I buy. I will be listening to the player through my meta42 amp and my Sennheiser 580 headphones with cardas cable. I typically...

    Meta42 v2.0 power supply hookup ?'s

Toe, you are correct. I am using the Elpac with the +12 and -12, bypassing the rail splitter and the power supply buffer. I figured out the correct way to hook up the power supply. It connects as I said above, and the com pin goes to ground. I just finished the amp about an hour ago, and...
