CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
Glad to know the s2000 work for you too. They look thinner than anything I've seen in that style... something like 7mm. If they don't protrude past the surface of the ear but for the wires, it'll probably work. I'll chat with them on Monday. They are in my timezone :) Better than dealing...- Michael_B

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
Thanks for the info. I'm very leary of any straight bodied iem/earphone because the ones I've tried.. even very small ones end up banging my ear when I lay on them. I also saw they do not have multiple size tips. How squishy is the body of the earphone? How's the SQ of the sleepers? I'm...- Michael_B

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
I'm looking for the same side sleeping issue and need them for tinnitus therapy at night as well (with a timer). I spotted the Advanced S2000 at around $25 on Amazon or at the Advanced-sound website. They have that flat UM /SE profile but are really thin. The Tennmak look to thick from the...- Michael_B

Introducing MAS Audio Science X5h Headphones and X5i Earbuds - Studio Monitor Performance
I have to admit, I'm a bit curious why you chose a straight earbud style in-ear design with mmcx connected cable coming straight down (or up for over ear). That's not typically the most comfortable or stable configuration IMO. I'm skeptical that you have a coherent design goal for the package...- Michael_B

Which budget in-canal earphones
if you research headphones or earphones under $100 here in the forums there is lots of reading and comparisons to be done, also some less expensive ones that users seem to like rather well. Happy Reading.. watch your wallet- Michael_B

Shure (Se530) Warranty
BTW... I've seen E5's advertised online by an 'authorized dealer' for $349. Considering their MAP rules, I was surprised. If you bought through an ebay store, it might in fact be an authorized reseller!! Flat rate repair is $145 from Shure in the US (from their web site)- Michael_B

The FreQ Custom IEMs - Impressions Thread (Updates on First Page!)
doesn't sound like the kind of thing that a burn-in would 'fix'. what is the impedance of the HD580's compared to the FreQs (if you even can find a spec for the FreQs - LOL)? I wouldn't trust an iPod for anything..- Michael_B

Have you tried a different source? It could be harmonic distortion caused by some type of impedance mis-match or some issue with the source amp once you get to a high enough drive level.- Michael_B

Short review: A4Tech iSecureFit MK-650 canal phones
LOL.. the iM-490's tips are quite a bit smaller and shallower than others. I tried a pair of UE foamies and they wouldn't snap on.. so I'm still looking for some others that will work. BTW.. the port on yours looks quite a bit bigger than the 490's.. so it seems the case is something common, but...- Michael_B

Super Freq's:(First Impressions....)
Well... the OP obviously has some good taste in cans, and with the other reviews of the FreQs by other obviously experienced Head-fi contributors, I have to believe there is something wrong with the pair that he's recieved... either something wrong with the impressions/molds or something is...- Michael_B

Short review: A4Tech iSecureFit MK-650 canal phones
Interesting.. the iM-490 case looks similar, but it doesn't have any kind of filter material.. just a fine metal mesh. The tips on the 490's don't 'snap' onto the nose, it's just a stretch-over fit. Do you find these are very sensitive to placement in the ear.. being a bit tough to get a...- Michael_B

Maximo iM-490 review? vs iM-390 ?
nowyoucanlaugh - did you route the cables up and over the ears, or straight down? With the cables up and over, I get almost no microphonics at all. I find it easier to get proper placement with the exit down however. The foamies I had didn't fit I'm hoping Andrew is still reading this thread...- Michael_B

Mid-range IEM's - build and comfort
I'm kinda entrigued with the SuperFreQs in this range. It's a custom fit, and the initial impressions seem favorible. Long term reliablility is still a question, since they are new, and the 'MusicMaker' series, which they say will be released in the May timeframe, are supposed to have...- Michael_B
