ER-6i or ER-4p
Don't get me wrong, the 6i are very nice, but the 4P are a whole new world of quality. Try going backward and see how you feel - it's a pretty drastic step. As for the "stick-out" amount, I find that mine really don't stick out that much further than the 6i did. The cable attachment is what...- malnar

Is there a reason not to buy these resistor adapters on Ebay? There's really not much to this that can go wrong, right?- malnar

keep the ER6i's or upgrade to ER4's?
I just got my ER4Ps yesterday and have to say, YES, the upgrade is very much worthwhile! The difference between the 4P and 6i is pretty drastic in terms of clarity and soundstage. It was shocking, actually, but not in the way I expected. I put them on, listened, and liked what I heard. Then I...- malnar

ETYMŌTIC IEM Owners Headcount - Are you one?
Just got a pair of ER4P yesterday to go along with my my ER6i. Absolutely amazing sound. I'm hearing things I've never heard before - fascinating. I put my Shure formerly-E3C now-SCL3 up on Ebay last night once I heard these. They blow them (and, I'm sad to say, the ER6i) away.- malnar

IEM Warning
No, I'm sorry to say, the damage to your hearing was likely done long ago, long before you even got into IEMs. Most hearing damage takes many years to fully develop. This is why they're warning people against children using Ipods at loud volumes - children and teens, and even young adults, don't...- malnar

keep the ER6i's or upgrade to ER4's?
How strange - I'm in almost exactly the same position. I'm currently considering selling my Shure EC3's because I greatly prefer my Etymotic ER6i's, and am thinking about buying a second pair or upgrading to the ER4P's. This is one of those times that I really wish I could try out IEMs before I...- malnar
