Haha, well what I meant by "crazy" is that I was concerned they might already be damaged, just by my having accidentally covered them (with my hands, a pillow I lie on, etc.) Of course I wasn't going to buy Grado and then cover them to improve the sound.

This is a pretty paranoid but I have been afraid for a while now to listen to my SR60s with, say, my head on a pillow, because I know they are not designed to have the backing blocked off. Can you damage open headphones by using them while the backing is covered? I've heard drivers are sensitive...
